Hey thanks for that feedback, it could be something with the proxy config on the server. The way my connection is to it, i might not notice all of these things so I appreciate the callout. (They are loading fine for me on desktop, just through lemmy.beyondcombustion.net at the moment it seems)
if you come directly to the community in a new browser/private browser window, like open https://lemmy.beyondcombustion.net/c/stonermemes in a private window do they still have issues loading for you?
Are you using an app, or one of the mobile versions of the beyondcombustion.net site, or one of the other lemmy.world front-ends? (lemmy.world hosts voyager, so do I as an example. Just curious as to what exactly is broken and where for the proxy troubleshooting).

Thanks!
It was a good time, and greatly needed.
lol naw, server shouldn't be going unless something terrible happens.
Just completed a 450mi bike tour. Sorry the site went offline, tried to fix an issue with the mobile version through my phone and it took the whole thing down. Whoops. I didn't take my laptop, couldn't afford to carry the extra weight with the vapes I took lol.
Hitting the TM2 to relax and pause while thinking about how to fix this so I can ebike the 300 miles back home.. What’s your favorite vape for fixing fucked up problems?
Couldn’t bring everything I wanted to because it was like 500lbs of stuff. Two of these will run/charge directly from my eBike though (since it’s got a 12v DC system), so they were obvious choices to keep when cutting weight.
Updated Voyager to 1.8.0 since that was just released (linked) Expanded the volume for lemmy by 100GB Cleaned up old snapshots of VMs, created new baselines. Scripting and posting shit on Gitea. New VM for Lemmy w/ separate VMs for Redis and PostgreSQL are just about done. Same with MediaCMS, Pixelfed, and Invidious. I was also smart enough this time to remember and make snapshots along the way so I don't have to start over if something goes completely wacko.
Finally started putting some things up on the [Gitea for the server config](https://gitea.beyondcombustion.net/BeyondCombustion.net/Server_Documentation_and_Configs). Started by adding the docker-compose.yml files for two of the lemmy-ui alternatives that are running now. [mlmym](https://gitea.beyondcombustion.net/BeyondCombustion.net/Server_Documentation_and_Configs/src/branch/main/Docker/mlmym/docker-compose.yml), [Voyager](https://gitea.beyondcombustion.net/BeyondCombustion.net/Server_Documentation_and_Configs/src/branch/main/Docker/Voyager/docker-compose.yml), and others don't seem to have docker-compose.yml files on their project pages yet, so I'll fork and properly PR those later this afternoon.

The bot picked up and re-posted everything off of the sub's RSS feed. It wasn't checking what type of post it was unfortunately.
The bot was to get some content on here, hopefully to get followers that were human and would contribute new-human posted posts.
I'm thinking maybe it could be cleaned up and made more specific in what it does, and could also run on a schedule instead of 24/7. That could make it more usable for bringing in content and driving new stuff from not-bots over time as lemmy keeps growing....

ya, it's just getting them spun up and actually messing with the admin side is time consuming.
Plus keeping this updated, I locked myself out once whoops.
Neeeeeed to wrap up the things that are all 90% this weekend and get them to 100% though. bleh.

What’s “the straw method”?
I haven’t tried it much more yet. Literally just cleaned it from that original combustion 😂
The Frya was delivered today too, haven’t tried it yet either 🤣
I want to do video reviews of them and host that myself. Had mediacms working yesterday evening, but couldn’t customize it how I wanted so I trashed the VM. Probably going back to it though because peertube is a pain to configure comparatively.
Was able to snag 5 more public IP address when I put the second server into the Colo. can’t do too much about the url at this point, but the additional new IPs could make setting a couple other things up easier than it’s been with ngnix proxy manager.

I like the Starry, def has some improvements over the v3. Little air vent slider on the Starry is neat, it's a solid device overall just like the v3. The Mambo I still need to clean after that initial combustion, that's tainted everything since.
I'll have more pics/vids of them up this weekend. Now that 2nd server is in the rack at the data center, and it's got a couple more drives in it I was setting up Pixelfed for images and either MediaCMS or PeerTube for somewhere to upload videos prior to posting. Lemmy and Pict-rs chokes on the images from my phone without converting/downsizing them and it's annoying as shit.

I get dispensary cutied occasionally and buy/try new products I didn't pre-order/budget for.
Combusted on the first bowl w/o capsule, so I need to clean it and keep using it for a bit to give good feedback on this thing. In the meantime, here's an unboxing and a couple pics. but the second link "Laboratory studies by California NORML and MAPS" goes to a dead page.

ya know, it's not hard to setup a totally independent instance on the same hypervisor as another.
I have servers, you have people, we could make independent lemmy instances on my two Dell R720xd and one Dell R730xd servers. They're not overloaded with people like lemmy.world yet, that would put way way more stress on that server.

I opened an issue on GitHub to maybe help get this thing working right.
To prep for my bike trip, and have some new shit to post about here along the way, I let VAS get me a little today. It'll give me another thing to make videos/pics of too. - [XVape Mambo](https://xvapeusa.com/product/cheech-chongs-mambo/) - [XVape Starry v4](https://xvapeusa.com/product/xvape-starry-4/) - [Flowerpot Tomcat Head](https://www.cannabishardware.com/collections/flowerpot/products/flowerpot-tomcat-head-assembly-7055) to go w/ the DeWalt battery controller - [Mighty with DC barrel plug](https://www.vapor.com/products/mighty-vaporizer) (It looks like I might have bought their last one) Pretty excited to try the Mambo! It looks like a neat little entry level vape. The Tomcat head seems interesting/weight saving if just using herb but wanting to change up bowl style while traveling. Mighty will let me send my USB C + Mighty in for service, then I'll have two when it's fixed mwahaha. Then finally the Starry v4 cause the v3 was pretty dope imo, and I was already ordering the Mambo from XVape so fuck it.
[https://old.beyondcombustion.net/c/vaporents](https://old.beyondcombustion.net/c/vaporents) exists as of yesterday. (expect it to be intermittent for now) I get a 400 error when signing in, the primary instance is rejecting the "old" one's hostname. That'll get sorted out though.
Was messing with the docker earlier, took it down for a sec then got busy and forgot about it for a bit. My bad. Anywhoo.... Lemmy 0.18.3 seems to be nearing release. Just updated the server to lemmy-ui: 0.18.3-rc.5 and lemmy: 0.18.3-rc.4 I'm going to migrate this instance to a couple new/individual VMs over the next week or so (hopefully) so it can scale better/improve uptime. This one that lemmy is running on currently pisses me off because docker has the zfs overlay enabled. It's harshing my mellow making me think disk space is lower than it actually is. I also want to get the redarc VM accessible (the reddit archives) *finally*. I need to go over to the colo to unfuck the iDrac on the current before going on vacation. I was going to take more drives to the current server.... but fuck that. I'll take another R720xd over w/48TB and add it to the rack w/the R730xd. Needs done anyways, no time like the present i guess. Gitea is back online. The VM's virtual disk filled up QUICK because I was pulling in some larger projects which were just stupid to mirror. Got those removed, expanding the drive and offloading the DB/Storage for gitea to two additional VMs/containers dedicated to SQL and file storage which should help avoid issues down the road. Additionally over the last couple days I was also configuring Prometheus, OpenObserve, and Garfana. Really needed to get better eyes on logs and what's going on in different parts of the server to make sure that nothing crazy happens or gets hosted/posted on the box that could cause me issues. Went through and made individual email addresses for each service so it's way easier to quickly identify what server is having an issue when alerts are sent out via email. Finally, I was just finishing up with Authentik and configuring it as an LDAP provider so it can integrate with the webmin consoles and locally on each VM. Since i got Webmin setup on each VM and managed by a central console and LDAP is the only way Authentik can interact with it, it makes sense to finally cross that bridge. LDAP should work easier with Discourse too, then it can be opened up for posting fun. Hopefully I can get more of this buttoned up and additional admins setup prior to my vacation next month. Otherwise, it'll be hard to take a vacation lol Stay medicated, fellow ents! - PHJ

Let me double tap that Mighty for the temp boost to 410F and oh shit it's on fire! 🔥
Figured I'd start a thread on flying with cannabis and vaporizers as I try to decide what device I'm packing this trip... Here's a few things I've been doing for domestic flights in the US. 1. Be cool. - Literally nobody gives a shit if it's a personal amount. 2. Don't bring a shit ton of cannabis. - Just bring a personal amount for the trip, maybe figure out something at your destination. Don't strap a pound of Purple Urkel Cheetah-piss Haze to your gooch and expect to not get caught. 3. Clean your devices. - At a minimum, you probably needed to clean them. But this helps reduce smell and depending on what it is can make it easier to play off as something different. 4. TSA Doesn't Care - It's not their job. They go through my bag each trip. Never an issue. 5. I was using a [Ryot Safe Case and I love it for organization](https://ryot.com/product/safe-case/) and stuff. Its really nice to toss in a backpack and keep things more protected. I've also just tossed my mighty and a half oz on top of my clothes at home just to open my luggage upon arrival to find one of those TSA inspection sheets next to it, so its not really to hide anything in that case. YMMV and some states like Texas DO care about you flying in with Cannabis products. Do your own research and asses what you deem as acceptable risk before flying with cannabis. Anyone else have any experiences or tips? International folks?

The "bones" are getting there. **Way easier** to make new pages then GitHub. 1. Go to a URL, if it's not there click "New Page". 2. Then type/paste stuff into it, click save. 3. BOOM a new page is born to help a future "vape curious" individual try a different method of consumption.

Cool looks like it's visually fixed :-)
I think there might be some weirdness with the nginx proxy that's in front of the site, I'll see if I can figure that out today. Since that last update it's been a bit off. Websockets were removed and at least one additional endpoint was added "/inbox". The instance on this server ended up being behind a dual nginx reverse proxy by the time I got federation going, so it's a bit.... tricky when changes like that happen.

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/1495501 > Idea: if you mod a community on a lemmy.somewhere you should be able to migrate it to lemmy.elsewhere which would include all post & comment links being forwarded and subbed users having their subscription updated to reflect the new location. > > I'm aware this would be a way down the road as user account migration alone is still not great but it would be a great feature for the fediverse to have to avoid centralisation and mod/server admin wars.
