Or you could go to New Zealand and hike from Hobbiton to Mount Ngauruhoe (the Mount Doom from the movies) in a quarter the distance, with more varied terrain, in a country with dedicated hiking huts, and probably chain together a bunch of hiking trails along the way.

One time in high school, someone tried to do one of these on me, accidentally drew four cards, and they were all swords. Then she went pale, made some excuse, and left.
It was pretty funny.

You know that thing where you try to say "cool" and "good" at the same time and end up saying "gool" and feel kind of dumb, but it's totally fine and it happens to everyone?
That but "migrant" and the n-word, and it's not totally fine and doesn't happen to everyone, because one of the words is the n-word.

I think minoxidil just makes hairs last longer, not make them denser or grow faster.
It's normal for beards to be uneven while growing in. If you want one, just pick a couple weeks where you're not going to see anyone you'll feel self conscious of seeing you with a crap beard. People start growing them during vacations for a reason.

Yeah, I'd probably figure both were physical objects, at least as large as mountains, pretty far away. There's no way I'd guess anywhere near the actual enormous sizes and distances. But the rest of the world is made of physical objects, so that would be what I'd expect of the sun and moon. Thinking that way is pretty core to who I am, and I would gravitate towards that even if it made me peculiar in my society, and if it's too far from the bounds of what a person in that society is able to believe then, like I said, that's just not identifiable as me anymore.

I'd think the moon went in front of the sun. Then I'd wonder if the sun can go in front of the moon, too.
I'd probably have a pretty bullshit explanation for why this was happening, which was contingent on the beliefs of the society I belonged to. But if that explanation does not allow for the what of what's happening to be "the moon went in front of the sun" then the person who believes that is unrecognizable as being me.

The thing about nature vs nurture is that people always imagine "nature" to be genetic instead of whatever random chemical bullshit happened in the womb while your brain was growing, and "nurture" to be Important Conversations with your parents and teachers instead of that one time you overheard some phrase that you completely misinterpreted because you were five and fully incorporated that misinterpretation into your worldview for years. But the total quantity of random bullshit outweighs the "important" parts by orders of magnitude.

You know how if you dig deep enough on tumblr, you can find someone who, by combining the language of intersectional feminism with sniffing their own farts, has found a way to argue... I don't know, white people having houseplants that don't originate from Europe is actually cultural appropriation?
What if we dedicated an entire forum to finding and mocking people like that, from a nominally leftist position, so we can justify class reductionism? Then we could act really surprised when nazis join in too, but fail to do much about it, and just become a nazi forum that sometimes complains about capitalism. Welcome to stupidpol.

4E was the one where they wanted to shift to digital services, but they didn't ever materialize. (In case you're wondering why it never happened - I was on the job market in Seattle at the time; they were offering a 60k salary for a senior engineer with a combo of rare talents in the same city Amazon was offering 90k to a junior engineer.)
5E was a reaction to 4E being hated by a large portion of their fans, and then Stranger Things and Critical Role resulted in them lucking into the most successful D&D edition yet, so I think their policy was mostly "Don't do anything, you might break it again."

The linked article does his math wrong - the ad revenue per page view is $0.00258, so the profit per page is actually $0.00207. This will radically accelerate the problem of search results being full of AI-generated spam.
This goose is a secretary bird. You might think that whoever named it had the hots for their secretary, but the etymology is actually some nerd shit instead.
This gooses are American kestrels. Kestrels are best known for abusing a physics exploit to hover in place while hunting. They'd probably be into speedrunning if they knew how to play video games.
This goose is a spectacled eider duck. I can't decide whether he looks more like he's getting ready to rob a bank wearing a shitty balaclava, he's a luchador with a bad mask, or he's wearing his underwear over his head. Vote in the comments.
