The Russian pranksters Vovan and Lexus called Sikorski (Polish Foreign Minister) pretending to be Poroshenko (former Ukrainian president before Zelenski). You can see the video here:

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SjER-c9C7FE

Sikorski lays out the beans. Among other things, that Europe's red line is direct war with Russia, and that all this posturing is just to keep Russia guessing as to what's coming next.

These are just the chihuahuas barking. Neither Canada, nor anyone else who came out and said they've "granted Ukraine permission to use their long-range missiles" (Finland, Holland, and I think Latvia) have given Ukraine any long-range missiles.

We are not talking about "permission", we are talking about access to encrypted targeting data, satellite control systems and digital signatures/passwords to enable the weapons to actually arm themselves and hit targets. The only relevant countries here are the US, UK and France, i.e. the ones who actually produce the weapons, control their restrictions, and have the satellite infrastructure to guide them.

The UK is gung-ho about letting their missiles loose on Russia, but the US is quite hesitant (despite public proclamations). There's three reasons for this:

    a) The fact that Russia has the capability (and has warned it will do so), to take out the satellites that control these weapons, as well as other satellites belonging to these nations as retaliation.

    b) The threats of Russia that it will arm the Houthis with anti-ship missiles and will aid the Iranians to attack US military installations in the Middle East. Both those events could be catastrophic for the US in quite a few ways.

    c) Russia has made it clear that any such move will be considered an act of war, and neither the US, nor the Europeans are willing to risk going to full war with Russia at this point (again, despite the public barking and posturing)

Meanwhile, Macron has realized that trying so hard to drum up support for sending the French army to the Ukrainian fields to die, was one of the reasons that he probably lost the elections. Indeed, notice how silent he has fallen on the topic since the first round of the parliamentary elections. Hence, France is unlikely to support the escalation.

So what we are seeing are just empty proclamations from countries that have absolutely no capacity to fulfill them, as a means of applying pressure on the US to say "yes" to Ukraine's petition. They keep saying "permission granted" and keep acting as if NATO has called a vote on what to do, which is not at all what's happening. Trudeau, and others who have done this, are also trying to reap the rewards of appearing to be "strong", "patriotic", "anti-Russia" and "pro-Ukraine".

I guess we'll see. I also think web pages work differently to games, in regards to the money that goes into developing them, and the expected revenue. Western companies would be perfectly willing to make 2 versions of the same game so they can keep milking Western audiences and keep selling to the Chinese players. But logistically that might lead them to dead-ends, such as trying to balance PvP between a European whale and a Chinese player.

It also means that now there will be data available to compare youth development, gambling addiction etc, between China and the West, which might hasten existing similar actions in the EU, UK and US.

    Piracy is much better because:

    a) happens in the background while you do other things (both downloading and uploading)

    b) doesn't usually use dedicated servers which consume a bunch of power for working and cooling (and take up land). In case of streaming services, servers need to be turned on 24/7 whether someone uses them or not. Then there's the matter of energy used for their massive bandwidth to be able to distribute to all the clients simultaneously.

    c) doesn't use crazy amounts of power for encoding/decoding and compressing/decompressing a stream.

The third reason alone makes piracy a lot more environmentally friendly.

The electoral system of France was specifically designed this way after the Paris Commune, to prevent communists from ever achieving power:

    1. Parliamentary seat elections go for 2 rounds. In the first round, anybody can run. In the second round, only the candidates who achieved a certain % of votes. But in the second round, any of the running candidates can freely drop out of the race. This has been a frequently used tactic over the last century. A district has a communist and a bunch of centrists and right-wingers running. The communist wins the first round of elections. The centrists and right-wingers come together and agree to drop out except one person, who everyone else backs. In the second round, the communist ends up losing. The first round essentially serves as a test run, to see if the communist is a threat, or if the other candidates can have their little fair competition.

    2. The president is really more like a king in France. The president gives the order to the parliament to form a government. If he doesn't like the formed government, he can reject it and have them try again. Likewise, he can suggest a government to the parliament (which is what French presidents usually choose to do), and if the parliament doesn't like it, it can reject it. But the thing is, in practice, the parliament needs the president more than the president needs the parliament. So the president is better able to form alliances with different parties, than different parties with each other. Moreover, the centrist-rightist anti-communist coalition applies here as well, so if the president is a communist, the parliament can easily coalesce against him. If the parliament was won by the communists, then most likely the president will still have enough seats in the parliament to block off the communists.

    3. The presidential elections work in a similar fashion. Though, that is true for most of Europe, it is still extremely difficult for leftists to win, because of the natural tendency of non-leftist factions in France to band together to save the country from communism.

The only way for the communists to win power in France is to have such overwhelming support as to win both rounds of parliamentary elections, and then get an overwhelming majority in parliament, and then work to maintain their support so they can win the presidential elections as well. If they don't hold both a <50% majority in parliament and the presidency, then their rule shall be hindered at every opportunity.

The left coalition ironically used #1 to beat LePen's party. But because they didn't secure an independent majority of seats, they were doomed. Which is why on the first day after the elections people were saying "The left won the votes, Macron won the elections".

If you read the article, it'd be very clear! China obviously needs to attack Russia right now, so it can secure 3 fields that Russia took after liberating Manchuria from the Japanese, that are supposed to be in the Chinese domain, according to some treaty between Tsarist Russia and Qing China signed 350 years ago.

The strategic importance of these 3 fields and that 1 old man's sheep herd that graze in that land, can not be understated!!! It's certainly far more important than the MINISCULE amount of trade that happens between Russia and China right now, and that INSIGNIFICANT alliance they have (which Russia will certainly betray next week!!!!)

which tbh some people on this site seem a little too excited about despite hundreds of thousands of people’s lives being at stake, both Russian and Ukrainian

    Critical support for Russia because:

    • it weakens NATO, EU, US, UK, and all the mechanisms they employ to keep communism down in the world. There can be no successful communist revolution without these entities being weakened or destroyed. For example, the recent decolonization efforts by Central African states like Niger and Burkina Faso would not have been possible had the West not been engaged and trounced in the war in Ukraine. Nor would the Palestinian Uprising.

    • Russia is not fighting an imperialist war, but an anti-imperialist one. Specifically, it is preventing the subjugation of Ukraine by the West, which has been actively trying for the past 10 years to achieve this. And this was done for the purpose of attacking Russia itself. So in many regards, people support Russia because they recognize this is a defensive conflict.

    • It is very likely that Russia will turn imperialist in the future, after this war is over, but right now, Russia serves as one of the most important allies for the world's best hope for achieving world socialism, which is China.

some MLs might benefit from re-reading Lenin’s works around WWI, because some subtext around here seems to be picking sides in this inter-imperialist war rather than hoping for peace.

I understand where you are coming from, but I think it's idealistic to wish that Russia and Ukraine sign a peace right now. A peace treaty at this juncture would mean that a Ukrainian neo-Nazi regime with an axe to grind will be joining an already-belligerent NATO, which would immediately station troops and nukes on Ukrainian territory. Ukraine's (and the West's) only motivation for peace is to gain time to rebuild their forces so they can try this again, like they've done before with the Minsk I and II agreements. In 5-10 years, the provocations will restart, with the West being better prepared for it. Which means that nuclear war might not be avoided.

If Russia takes out Ukraine's ability to join NATO, denazifies it, and at the same time, humiliates the West such that it will not try something similar again in the near future, then the world will actually be a safer place.

I understand the desire to save lives, but we have to approach this conflict dialectically and understand the consequences of different outcomes.

I assumed his plan was to have a carbon dioxide sensor that would activate the fan. Humans don't breathe out carbon monoxide and it doesn't float in the atmosphere in large quantities, so while life-saving by itself, a CO sensor would be useless for activating the fan regularly. For purposes of ventilation, a rise in carbon dioxide concentration means a reduction in oxygen.

Carbon dioxide is heavier than carbon monoxide by the way.

    Yeah combining blades into one.

I have done something similar but not for living conditions. Rather for a room containing fermenters. I don't have pictures to share though, since I no longer work at that place.

If you don't have the knowledge to put together a make-shift fan, then I'd suggest to go out and buy something like the one that another commenter suggested. I only suggested something like that because it would cut down your costs significantly. If you have no experience in doing something like that though, it'd be a lot safer to buy something ready.

CO2 is heavier than O2 and naturally sinks to the bottom. So you'd need to install ventilation pipes around the room, connecting between cellar floor level and the ground level above. A computer fan is not big enough to cut it, and you are thinking about it the wrong way as well. You need to move large volumes of air, so the smaller the fan diameter, the more RPMs you need to achieve desirable movement of sufficient air volume, which means more sound produced by the movement of the fan.

What you could do is take a couple old stand or wall fans and weld them together to create a 6-blade double-sided fan. Then dig an S-tunnel for ventilation, and line it with aluminum or PVC to create a sterile surface. Install the fan somewhere in the middle, and connect it to a fan motor modified to work at slower RPMs for silent running, but running constantly.

You can camouflage the ventilation tunnel's exit by building a small structure around it that makes it look like a brick grill maybe. Whatever ventilation system you use, you'll need it to be covered to protect the fan's electrical system and the cellar itself from rain. You'll also need to install grills/filters to prevent critters from moving through, especially stuff like mice, snakes, or venomous insects/arachnoids.

As for mould, you need to make sure the place is not susceptible to humidity, so a simple dehumidifier should suffice.

Aside from a CO2 sensor, it wouldn't be a bad idea to also have a humidity sensor and maybe a carbon monoxide sensor as well. You don't need much else.

At this point, Sanders is a psyop meant to sheepherd leftists and left-leaning people into the Democratic Party. There's absolutely no reason to give him the benefit of the doubt.

On the contrary, there's very good reason to expose him for what he is. And based on the past, either he withdraws the proposal, or he changes it to make it milktoast. The only way it gets through to the floor, is if it's already known beforehand that it will be rejected, and the DNC has allowed this to happen before, to boost Sander's profile so he can work for them more effectively.

This whole thing is performative theater before the elections, to attract Muslims and leftists to the booths for Kamala, and we should call it as such, instead of tone-policing.

The Ukrainians seem to be pulling brigades even from Kursk to halt the Pokrovsk collapse.

It is likely they realized that the ongoing Kursk offensive or the planned Zaporozhie offensive will not work, especially since their Western masters have not unlocked their ATACMS and other long-range weapons to be able to strike deep into Russian territory.

It is also likely the Russians will hold off advancing further (at least so rapidly) in the Pokrovsk-Konstantinovka line in the near future, and instead will push exactly where the Ukrainians are pulling troops from.

By the way, there's a pretty good chance the article is bullshit.

The Ukrainians did lose an F16 and its pilot. But they didn't lose it due to a crash.

See about a week ago, the Ukrainian propaganda arm released a video where they were commemorating the memory of another Ukrainian pilot who died in 2023. The video was filmed at an airfield with F16s. Due to some unique architecture in the background, the Russians were able to geolocate the airfield at Ivano-Frankovsk, which they bombed last Monday, during the massive bombing strike of Ukraine. And that is exactly where the Ukrainians are saying that the F16 "crashed".

There's a pretty good chance that the Russians destroyed that F16 on the ground, with the pilot inside, probably during ground preparations. But ofcourse, Ukraine doesn't want to admit to anybody that they lost a precious F16 and its pilot, on the ground, because they fucked up. So they are probably inventing this narrative about a "crash" and a "non-combat loss", so they don't look like clowns.

US stock market is crashing hard - New recession possibly incoming - Tech bubble is bursting www.cnbc.com

The main points: * Apparently, the direct cause was Japan raising its interest rates. Apparently investors globally used to borrow yen (which had low interest rates) and then invest elsewhere, turning a quick profit on the difference between the yen's interest rate and the return of the investment. When the yen's interest rate went up, a bunch of investors started selling off their yen assets, which carried over to the US market. * The issue was exacerbated by recent reports of US economic shrinkage. * Most stocks and all major indexes have dropped significantly * Tech companies particularly affected. Especially Nvidia, Apple and Tesla. Also, US-based and Taiwan-based chip manufacturers. * Cryptos are crashing, as investors are liquidating assets * Japanese and Korean stock markets were also severely affected directly, with similar downwards spirals. * European markets started getting affected as well. I have no idea about the yen actually being the culprit to this. I'd say it's probably a contributing factor or a catalyst. But we've been seeing the US tech companies faltering for some time now, after the US initiated a trade war with China. Chinese tech companies have been making huge strides in the past year alone, while Western tech companies remained stagnant or regressed. My interpretation, at least as far as the fire-sale involving US tech companies, is that they've been losing ground to China for some time, and they've been underperforming in the stock market for a while (recall that Nvidia's stock has been dropping for the past 2 weeks or so). Whatever arbitrary event caused Wall Street investors to start dumping their stocks, the recent poor performance of American tech companies made them a prime target for unloading stocks first. In essence, the US tried to start a tech and trade war with China and ended up shooting its own foot. Meanwhile, China yet again proven to be taking the right actions. Worth noting, that there's talks that the US Federal Reserve could have taken actions to prevent this crash being so severe, but they didn't. The Fed says there's still time to act and there's nothing to worry about, without elaborating further. This is entirely my own speculation, but it's quite possible that a crash was expected and was allowed to unfold to blow up in Trump's face when elected. It just happened a few months earlier than expected. Edit: I'm not an economist, and I'm not involved in finances, so if anyone would like to correct me on anything, feel free. Also, apologies for using CNBC, but it was the only place I found that listed the events neatly, without dressing them up (and with minimal intrusion of Cookies notifications)

To become a German citizen, you will now be forced to recognize the right of Israel to exist https://www.israelhayom.com/2024/06/27/germanys-unprecedented-citizenship-law-requires-recognizing-israels-right-to-exist/

    >In a significant move to reshape its immigration policies, Germany is set to implement a new citizenship law on Thursday that explicitly requires applicants to acknowledge Israel's right to exist. This reform, spearheaded by Chancellor Olaf Scholz's socially liberal government, aims to streamline the naturalization process while simultaneously addressing growing concerns about antisemitism and far-right sentiment in the country. >Interior Minister Nancy Faeser emphasized the dual nature of the new law, stating, "Anyone who shares our values and makes an effort can now get a German passport more quickly and no longer has to give up part of their identity by giving up their old nationality." However, she also underscored the stringent requirements, adding, "But we have also made it just as clear: anyone who does not share our values cannot get a German passport. We have drawn a crystal-clear red line here and made the law much stricter than before." >The reform, which allows dual citizenship for first-generation migrants and reduces the waiting time for naturalization to five years, comes amid a complex political landscape. Germany has witnessed a surge in antisemitic incidents, with Felix Klein, the government commissioner for fighting antisemitism, reporting an alarming 83% increase in hate crimes against Jewish people in 2023, totaling 4,782 incidents. >To address these concerns, the interior ministry has introduced new elements to the citizenship test. "New test questions have been added on the topics of antisemitism, the right of the state of Israel to exist, and Jewish life in Germany," a ministry spokesperson confirmed. The test will also assess applicants' commitment to gender equality, democracy, and Germany's historical responsibility towards Judaism in light of its Nazi past. >However, the government's approach has not been without controversy. Its handling of criticism towards Israel's actions in Gaza has sparked a heated debate on free speech, particularly among artists and academics. The resignation of Sabine Döring, junior minister for higher education, following her ministry's exploration of defunding researchers who criticized police actions against anti-Israeli protests, highlights the delicate balance the government is trying to strike. >The new citizenship law has also become a contentious issue for young Muslims in Germany, with officials expressing concern about potential radicalization due to perceived limitations on freedom of expression. >As Germany implements these changes, it faces the challenge of maintaining its commitment to inclusivity while addressing complex geopolitical and social issues. The success of this reform will likely depend on its ability to navigate these tensions and foster a sense of shared values among its increasingly diverse population. Screams without proof: questions for NYT about shoddy 'Hamas mass rape' report - The Grayzone thegrayzone.com

    > The Times has come **under fire from family members of Gal Abdush, the so-called “girl in the black dress”** who features as Exhibit A in Gettleman and company’s attempt to demonstrate a pattern of rape by Hamas on October 7. Not only have Abdush’s sister and brother-in-law each **denied that she was raped**, the former has accused the Times of manipulating her family into participating by **misleading them about their editorial angle**. > “**The police are having difficulty locating victims of sexual assault from the Hamas attack**, or people who witnessed such attacks, and decided to appeal to the public to encourage those who have information on the matter to come forward and give testimony. Even in the few cases in which the organization collected testimony about sexual offenses committed on October 7, it **failed to connect the acts with the victims who were harmed by them**.” Why are the Israeli police struggling to find witnesses of sexual assault which your paper confidently described on October 7 as so widespread that it demonstrated “a pattern?” > You describe a 24-year-old accountant identified as “Sapir” as “one of the Israeli police’s key witnesses.” **Yet one of Sapir’s key claims undermines the rest of her testimony**. According to the Times, “she saw three other women raped and terrorists carrying the severed heads of three more women.” Given that **no record exists of women being beheaded on October 7**, why did you include this claim from Sapir? Does such an assertion not undermine her credibility and raise doubts about the rest of her testimony? And why, at minimum, did you not mention that there is no forensic evidence to support Sapir’s claim? According to Haaretz, “investigators were unable to identify the women who, according to the testimony of [Sapir] and other eyewitnesses, were raped and murdered.” Israeli Police Superintendent Adi Edry told the paper, “**I have circumstantial evidence**, but ultimately my duty is to find evidence that supports her testimony and to find the victims’ identity. **At this stage I don’t have those specific corpses**.” Select excerpts and emphasis mine.

Putin's speech outright calls out Israeli war crimes www.en.kremlin.ru

I found this speech to be very candid and close to a historical materialist perspective. >President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Colleagues, >Today, I want to discuss a broad range of issues with you. >The Defence Minister [Sergei Shoigu] is back from his official trip abroad, and he will brief us on its outcomes and report on the progress of the special military operation. >Of course, we will discuss the situation in the Middle East and issues related to ensuring law and order in Russia. We will discuss what needs to be done to protect the rights of our people, public safety, civil peace and interethnic accord, including in view of external threats. >As you know, at a recent meeting with religious associations’ leaders, I spoke about the attempts to use the dramatic situation in the Middle East and other regional conflicts against our country to destabilise and divide our multi-ethnic and multi-faith society. For this purpose, many different means are being used, including, as we see, lies, provocations and sophisticated techniques of psychological and information aggression. >I want to repeat that those behind the Middle East conflict and other regional conflicts will be using the destructive impact of these conflicts to sow hatred and cause clashes between people around the world. This is the real self-serving aim of such geopolitical puppeteers. >We remember how the current phase of the Middle East crisis began: it was a terrorist attack against Israeli civilians and civilians from other countries who happened to be in Israel at that time. We see that, unfortunately, instead of punishing criminals and terrorists, they started to retaliate according to the principle of collective responsibility. There is no justification for the terrible events taking place in Gaza now, where hundreds of thousands of innocent people are being killed indiscriminately, without having anywhere to flee or hide from the bombing. When you see blood-stained children, dead children, the suffering of women and old people, when you see medics killed, of course, it makes you clench your fists as tears well in your eyes. There is no other way to put it. >However, we should not, we have no right and we cannot allow ourselves to be carried away by emotions. We must clearly understand who in reality is behind the tragedy of peoples in the Middle East and in other regions around the world, who has been organising this lethal chaos and who benefits from it. In my opinion, it has already become clear to everyone, as the masterminds brazenly act in the open. >These are the current ruling elites in the United States and its satellites who are the main beneficiaries of the global instability that they use to extract their bloody rent. Their strategy is also clear. The United States as a global superpower is becoming weaker and is losing its position, and everyone sees and understands this, even judging by the trends in the world economy. The American-style world, with the hegemony of one country, is being destroyed and is receding gradually but inexorably into the past. >However, the United States is unwilling to accept this, and instead seeks to preserve and extend its dominance, its global dictatorship, which is easier to achieve amid such chaos, because the United States believes this chaos will help it contain and destabilise its rivals or, as they put it, their geopolitical opponents, among which they also rank our country, which in reality are new global growth centres and sovereign independent countries who are unwilling to kowtow and play the role of servants. >Today, Russia is not just actively participating in the formation of a new, fairer multipolar world with equal rights and opportunities for all countries and civilisations. We are not only one of the leaders of this objective historical process, but I will say more, and everyone knows this: Russia is fighting on the battlefield for our future, for the principles of a just world order, for the freedom of countries and peoples. We are fighting consistently, and our soldiers and officers, our heroes, are fighting and losing their comrades-in-arms. >I will repeat again: the ruling elites of the United States and its satellites are behind the tragedy of the Palestinians, the massacre in the Middle East in general, the conflict in Ukraine, and many other conflicts in the world – in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and so on. This has become obvious to everyone. It is they who install their military bases everywhere, who use military force on every pretext and without any pretext, who send weapons to conflict areas. They are also channelling financial resources, including to Ukraine and the Middle East, and fuelling hatred in Ukraine and the Middle East. >They are not achieving results on the battlefield, so they want to split us from within, as far as Russia is concerned, to weaken us and sow confusion. They do not want Russia to participate in solving any international or regional problems, including in the Middle East settlement. They are not satisfied at all when someone does not act or speak exactly as they are instructed. They believe only in their own exclusivity, in being allowed to do anything. >They do not need durable peace in the Holy Land; they need constant chaos in the Middle East. Consequently, they are trying hard to discredit countries that are insisting on an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, on ending the bloodshed, and that are ready to make a real contribution to resolving the crisis, rather than parasitising on it. They are even attacking, ostracising and trying to discredit the UN and the clear position of the global community. >I would like to note that, unlike the West, our approaches towards the situation in the Middle East have always lacked mercenary interests, intrigues and double standards. We have stated and continue to openly state our position, which does not change every year. The key to resolving the conflict lies in establishing a sovereign and independent Palestinian state, a full-fledged Palestinian state. We have repeatedly said this openly and honestly during our contacts with the Palestinian and Israeli leaders. >I repeat, the truth is that the stronger Russia becomes and the more consolidated Russian society is, the more effectively will we be able to uphold our own national interests, as well as the interests of the nations that are victimised by the neo-colonial Western policy. >I would like to say once again that we must realise where the root of evil lies. We must know where the spider that is trying to entangle the entire planet and the whole world in its cobweb is. It wants to ensure our strategic defeat on the battlefield, and it is using people on the territory of contemporary Ukraine who have been brainwashed by it for decades. I would like to stress once again that, while fighting this enemy in the course of the special military operation, we are boosting the positions of all those who are struggling for their independence and sovereignty. >The events in Makhachkala last night were instigated also through social networks, not least from Ukraine, by agents of Western intelligences services. I would like to ask myself in this connection: is it possible to help Palestine by trying to attack the Tat people and their families? Tats, by the way, are the titular nation in Daghestan. The only way to help Palestine is to fight those who are behind this tragedy. We, Russia, are fighting them in a special military operation, fighting them for ourselves and for those who seek real, true freedom. >By the way, I never cease to be amazed by the Kiev regime and its overseas masters. We know that Bandera and other henchmen of Hitler have already been put on a pedestal of honour, we know and see how the Ukrainian leadership applauds the Nazis of the Second World War, who were guilty of the Holocaust victims, who personally took part in these crimes, and today, under the guidance of their Western patrons, are trying to instigate pogroms in Russia. By the way, I am not sure whether all the leading circles in the same States are aware of this. It would not be a bad idea for those who care so much about the citizens of Israel to investigate what their security services are doing in Ukraine, whether they are trying to instigate pogroms in Russia. Scum, that’s all. There is no other way to put it. >But those who really stand up for truth and justice, who fight against evil and oppression, against racism and neo-Nazism, which the West encourages, are now fighting at the front – near Donetsk, Avdeyevka, on the Dnieper. I repeat: these are our soldiers and officers. And the choice of a real man, a true warrior, is to take up arms and stand in line with his brothers, to be there where the fate of Russia and, indeed, of the whole world, including the future of the Palestinian people, is being decided. >I want to draw the attention of the heads of all regions, heads of law enforcement agencies and special services to the need for firm, timely and clear action to protect Russia’s constitutional order, the rights and freedoms of our citizens, inter-ethnic and inter-faith accord. >Let us move on to a discussion of all the proposed topics.

Greek AirBnB leach wants to charge guests after they left due to the fires in the area (translation in description)

Good evening to all. I have a serious problem: a big fire has been burning the area of Saronida, which makes the air very stifling for the guests here. The guests have left. What would be the correct thing to do in this situation? Return of money? Is it really my fault or is the guest just unlucky, since I'm not responsible for forest fires occuring in the surrounding area. I'd like your opinion and your help 🙏

Zelensky's appearance in the Greek and Cypriot Parliaments was a disasterfor his regime

In Greece: He tried impressing them by referencing Greek history, which would have worked. The problem was that after his speech, an Azov batallion fighter came up to talk, saying he had Greek descent. Due to the military Junta they had between 67-74, and the way fascists starved the country in WW2, a lot of people in Greece are very suspicious of fascism, and public opinion was already against Azov and a lot more neutral towards the conflict. This appearance caused an outcry. Political parties walked out the room en masse, and made proclamations condemning Azov and Zelenski. In Cyprus: As far as I know, no Azov soldier spoke here (probably because a few hours earlier, the Greece speech happened), but people were still angry that Zelenski did not condemn the Turkish invasion and occupation. This was a comparison to Ukraine that played heavily the last month, in order to create sympathy for Ukraine. Zelenski destroyed that. In both countries: People are already mostly against NATO, and now public opinion is swinging against Ukraine. The Communist Parties of both countries did not attend the speech, and were proven correct in the public eye. Most political parties are following the examples of Communists, and condemning Zelenski's speech. There are even questions on who exactly invited him to talk. Nobody seems to know.
