I couldn't get my container started with postgress running but I had an idea:

I started the upgrade process with Lemmy-Easy-Deploy,

canceled out of it before it removed the containers,

ran sudo docker exec -i lemmy-easy-deploy-postgres-1 psql -U lemmy -c "alter user lemmy with password 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx'"

with the password set in my env file,

then restarted the upgrade process. It's running again.

The odd part is that it was running fine until the upgrade.

I used the Lemmy-Easy-Deploy method but the catch is that I migrated from Google Cloud Free Tier to a paid server with another host. I have the backups so I can always restore from that if I really have to. I have an env file with the password that it should be using but I'm not sure how it was changed...

Good point. I did follow a few accounts I already follow on Mastodon. But then I thought "I have a Mastodon account already... Why am I doing this?"

And the Emojis instead of starring a post was throwing me off.

edit: I see there is a star online now. Maybe it was just the Kimis app that was weird.

Is Firefish the same thing as Calckey?

I created a Calckey account a couple of weeks ago but it was basically a weird Mastodon with even fewer people from what I could tell.

It cannot connect a kbin account, yet. Kbin does not have an API to use to connect to the site, yet. There is an app called Artemis that is being developed that is using scraping to pull data from the site. It’s in private beta currently.

I blocked that account just now but I’d rather block the whole instance. It’s a neat idea but I see absolutely no reason for it to federate if it’s just an RSS aggregator.

Are you sure you don’t have a return character in the user name after “lemmy” accidentally? I haven’t set up an instance but it looks like that could be your issue.

I’ve been doing the same. I have all 4 but most of my time is spent on Memmy but Mlem is quickly catching up.

Swiping to go back has a delay, as well.

The US Coast Guard did NOT detect any implosions just as they said. It was the US Navy that detected it.

Whether or not that was communicated to the USCG, I don’t know.

Edit: now I see in the article- it was communicated on Sunday. But the USCG statement was still technically true. They didn’t detect an implosion.

Oh! I like that “Everything” option! I don’t have to visit the site now just to see what’s going on over there! Very nice feature! What happens if I try to comment?

Maybe if you had the All as default option and have a pop-up explaining what “Everything” is when people switch to it? It’s not really all that confusing, as long as it’s explained as you just did!

Edit again to add: this is the best iOS app currently! Great job getting it going!

I’m having issues upvoting posts. It tells me that I have to sign in even though I am already signed in. It occurs on local and foreign instances.

Edit 1: It’s also a little confusing that you have to tap the “edit” button to save a comment edit.

Edit 2: it also seems to be allowing me to see Beehaw posts even though I assume lemmy.world is still currently defederated from them.

I’ve been testing both and I definitely prefer Memmy overall. Mlem has better image display options and has search. Memmy doesn’t display images unless you tap on the post. Search should be released in the next day or two, though.

Artemis being an Apollo clone had me very excited, though.

Yeah, I have a kbin account and noticed the same thing. I keep going back and forth between the two. I understand why it's implemented, but I'm not sure I entirely like the idea of having every favorite being visible to the public. At least they're only visible on the specific comment/ post but not visible from the user profile.

I really wanted to like Foundation. Something about the acting and especially the writing seemed off. It just didn’t work. The Brothers were the best part of the show. The Salvor Hardin character just felt too forced. Forced acting and forced writing.
