This definitely feels like terrorist attack tactics, since it does more to cause fear than actually fatalities. You make some really good points though, it's unfortunate that you're getting so many downvotes for factual information.

As for the terrorist group designation, you can see a list of all countries and entities that consider Hezbollah a terrorist group here.. It does include both the European Union and the United States, along with many other countries. There are some countries that don't consider them a terrorist group, notably Russia, China, and North Korea.

There was a bug with that, caused both by Decky Recorder and by having Valve's own game recorder turned on. Uninstalling Decky Recorder and making sure the built in recorder is turned off before entering desktop mode seems to fix it.

On beta, the two bugs that annoy me the most are both related to docked play.

    • The first one is that pressing home + A on a controller to open the QAM will open it for just a moment before opening the full steam overlay instead. It's acting like it's counting it as two home presses.

    • Second one is that every SteamOS update somehow messes up my bluetooth pairing for controllers. The controllers are still listed, but won't connect. Have to forget them and repair before they'll work again.

I bought Rocket League because it had a Linux version, and Linux games were scarce before proton. Epic bought the developers of rocket League, and made it Epic exclusive. People who bought the steam version got to keep it, except for Linux users because Epic cancelled Linux support.

Epic loves to act like they're anti monopoly, but they only care about that when they're competing for market share. They're extremely pro Microsoft and anti Linux.

Also one of the biggest concerns about Valve having a monopoly in the PC gaming space is that they could use their marketshare and money to block rival stores from getting popular games, making it hard to compete and removing user choice. In reality, Valve hasn't done this, but Epic is leveraging their big pile of fortnite money to do this. It makes people think that if Epic ever gets into a dominate market position, that they'll absolutely be an abusive monopoly that makes the market space worse for everyone else.

Microsoft Windows kernel changes don't suddenly mean big things for Linux gaming www.gamingonlinux.com

This is a counterpoint to [this article](https://www.notebookcheck.net/Microsoft-paves-the-way-for-Linux-gaming-success-with-plan-that-would-kill-kernel-level-anti-cheat.888345.0.html) posted [here](https://sopuli.xyz/post/17020648) a few days ago. Issues with kernel anti-cheat are the biggest barrier to linux gaming being able to play everything, so it's easy to get overly excited about changes to how windows implements it hoping for an improvement. However that last article was probably unrealistically positive about the changes, and this article probably has a much more realistic perspective on what the changes will actually mean.

He specifically cited bad battery life on the ROG Ally and Lenovo Go, saying that getting only one hour of battery life isn't enough. No, many steam games use steam to verify if you own the game. It's up to developers if they require their game to have steam drm or not.

If the game doesn't have Steam DRM, you can just copy the game folder and run it anywhere. But many games will require steam (with an account that owns the game) to be running before they'll open.

The catch is that many game publishers won't release their games on GOG, or wait for several years after release before they start to sell it there.

Technically, Steam DRM is optional and any publishers who want to can sell their games through steam without any form of DRM. The game files are transferable, and you don't need steam running or logged in to run the game. But most publishers don't want DRM removed, and so it's pretty rare.

Here's a list of Steam games that have DRM disabled. There's also a number of games that will run DRM free if you put a txt file with the game's steam ID number in it.

Steam versions of games tend to run a little better, and also benefit from things like Steam distributing pre-compiled shaders for the games. There are also some cases where non-steam games will require you to install specific windows components through wine for the game or in-game media to work.

Includes installing emulators, setting up control schemes, installing CRT shaders, and adding emulated titles to Steam so that you can run them like native steam games. * Bazzite is a SteamOS alternative. Biggest difference is that it's based on Fedora linux instead of Arch linux. Otherwise it provides a similar experience to SteamOS, with a steam based game mode, decky extension support, and many other similarities. It's main advantages are that it works on non-Deck hardware, supports permanently installing non-flatpak linux software, and lets you use different linux desktops besides KDE.

The music control Decky plugin (and possibly some other plugins) is causing Steam OS to not load properly and should be uninstalled.

Text transcription of image: > @everyone The Music Control plugin is delisted and should be uninstalled as it causes Steam BPM to "bootloop" in newer versions of Decky Loader such as the current pre-releases of 3.X.X. We also have users experiencing the same issue without that plugin installed so I would recommend manually deleting one plugin at a time to see which plugin is effecting you. You will need to delete any effected plugin(s) from `~/homebrew/plugins/` (You will need to use sudo to delete the files, suggest using konsole and using `sudo rm -r /path/to/plugin`). Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Semicolon on a USB keyboard connected to your deck should allow you to bypass the "bootloops" and delete the plugin. Best place for discussion is <#960284126701813770>. Best of luck! Additionally the Decky recorder plugin can prevent you from being able to use desktop mode, just giving you a black screen instead (funnily enough having steam recording turned on can do the same thing), so it's also recommended to be uninstalled. If you're affected by any of these issues, you will want to fix it using the console. You can bypass the loop by pressing `Ctrl+alt+;` and then try to enter desktop mode. If you can't get into desktop mode, you can switch to a terminal in game mode by pressing `ctrl+alt+f5` once you're loaded into steam OS. Once in a terminal, you can navigate to the plugin folder with the command `cd ~/homebrew/plugin`, use the command `ls` to see all the installed plugins, and then use `sudo rm -r pluginfoldername` to delete individual ones. If removing plugins doesn't fix things for you, you can instead run `curl -L https://github.com/SteamDeckHomebrew/decky-installer/releases/latest/download/uninstall.sh | sh` to fully uninstall Decky loader and all plugins. Afterwards you can reinstall without the problematic plugins. When you've finished running commands, you can type `reboot` to restart your deck. If you're affected and having trouble getting it fixed, feel free to ask for help here or on the [Decky discord server.](https://decky.xyz/discord) **EDIT:** We have an updated list of plugins that are breaking boot: * DeckRoulette 1.1.3-0950f29 * GameView Music 1.1.0-1 * MicroSDeck 0.9.1-1 (see list below) * MusicControl 1.1.5 (see list below) * Network Info 1.0.1-13b914b * Remote Play Whatever 1.0.0 * System Toolbox 1.0.2-1 Thankfully a new pre-release of Decky Loader came out this morning and claims to have fixed the issue.

[Game] Fix For Jackbox Megapicker Corrupting Steam Decks Released - Steam Deck HQ steamdeckhq.com

The Jackbox Megapicker was corrupting SteamOS and forcing people to reinstall the entire OS. It's been fixed with a hot fix for now, but probably safest to avoid it until they get this all sorted out.
