Also how is power consumption?

I never use wifi outside of my home. I have unlimited cellular data, so why would I bother?

Fair. I guess its more helpfull in cases of poor cell reception or traveling (though I guess this is a edge case in its own right).

I should elaborate. I want to switch from caddy to authentiks internal reverse proxy. By default authentik uses ports 9000 and 90443 and you have the option to change them to 80 and 443 via docker compose.

Using host mode throws a wrench in the ports and authentik is made of more than one container.

I do own a cheap numerical xyz domain (something like 432433.xyz) cost a dollar per year. Only reason I was curious about eu.org is its very short and ends with .org.

I haven't really bought a proper .com domain since I'm just using them for side hobby projects (not for sharing with other people).

This book wrapping up all of the open ends in the story feels both very pleasant to read but also pretty sad on a deeper level. I really don’t want the main story to end but there needs to be a last chapter eventually or it’ll lose its greatness.

Not to sound like a downer but another thing I'm gonna miss is prepub discussions. There is side stories, manga, and upcomming anime. But I'm not sure if they will garner the same type of discussion like with prepubs.

Out of curiosity do you know of any other lightnovels that is active like bookworm or is this more of a one of deal?

I do wish there were more services like nebula one yearly fee no baked in ads or ads at all and more creators are willing to join them.

The thing that sucks with youtube premium is you still have creators dumping 1 min long sponsors ruining the experience. Additionally often only way these creators allow you to go add free is via patreon, floatplane, etc which can get quite expensive if you follow 30-50 channels. The only other viable route is sponsorblock which works great but requires modified youtube clients/browser extensions and with youtubes new video adinjection could potentially be broken.

The only part I do wonder with nebula is how well it works for larger creators.

Update regarding virtual files has more quirks.

You cannot move files or folders. If you try nextcloud will simply copy the files to new destinaiton while not moving.
the nextcloud sync and virtual files refresh/update independently (a change may propigate to sync but not files and vice versa).

Also turns out the reason it was a github release was it is still in alpha 😅 .

Update the stable client does have proper virtual file sync.

Regarding the previous virtual file sync system (.nextcloud) you had to enable experimental features to get it. The latest stable just has both versions of syncing and I missed the obsious vfs sync option.

The only downside to the new system is there isn't a make file/folder available offline always option in the context menu (you can get around this by manually setting up synced folders but it is a little inconvient).

It sorta does. Nextcloud creates a list of placeholder files with a .nextcloud extension and when you open it nextcloud will auto download the realfile and open it.

Hi guys do you guys know any selfhosted cloud solution that has a combined sync and filestream option? Context when you use seafile on macos there is seadrive (mounts external cloud like a drive) and seafile sync which syncs files to local folders. The problem is the two clients sort of act seperatly from one other (you cant make seadrive make files offline for instance neither can you preview files in seafile sync). By contrast onedrive and google drive both have client apps which can sync on demand (file stream) and optionally make files available offline with a simple right click in context menu. ~~Side note I have tried nextcloud on mac but its experimental mount mode just keeps a placeholder .nextcloud file.~~ Edit: Nextcloud does have proper virtual file sync. Just checked, it's working fine for me Seadroid: 3.0.0 (from fdroid) Server: 11.0.8 Pixel 8 android

I had the googlw play store version which was 1 year out of date. Reinstalling from fdroid fixed the issue.

Edit: seafile doesnt seem to play nice with microsoft word android. I can open files just fine using the browse tab but can't save files

Hi guys I was wondering if there is a streamlined way to disable remote acess to a selfhosted service (say at a reverse proxy level) if a published security vunerability is present. I know, ideally you want to keep all your selfhosted services up to date. However on certain selfhosted service auto updates may not be viable (due to major changes between updates) and you being unavailable 24/7 to respond to vunerabilities. Curious on your thoughts and suggestions. Hi guys anyone know the dofference between Google Play System updates vs OEM security updates? I currently am using a Oneplus 8 which gets oem security updates from oneplus untill April 2024. After this date how safe would thr device be to use (banking, google pay, etc)?

Anyone know of good places to rent/borrow light novels?

Hi guys do you know any good places to rent/borrow light novels? In the case of borrowing: - My local library via libby doesn't seem to have any. In the case of renting: - With J-novel I've found three ways of renting. 1) Using scribid (aprox 7 book limit per month) 2) Using jnc membership for prepub 3) Rent via jnc (can be more or less expensive than scribid depending on number of parts). My problem however is with other publishers their aren't really any options to rent/borrow books (reading spice and wolf via yenpress). I hope this post doesn't sound stingy in general just curious on general options.

Hi guys I recently tested lemmy's email feature and found on lemmy.world there are no issues with email (both in recieving the verification email and replies/messages). When testing bookwormstory.social however I am unable to recieve emails (both in recieving the verification email and replies/messages). Some useful apps to work around voyagers markdown and image limitations Instabord is a handy keyboard app that allows you to program shortcuts. I have it set to some common mark down syntax. Only down side is it's closed source and free version has a 5 key limit then $5 one time purchase.
