"Over 70% of the Hallmark audience is past 50 years old. This breakdown of the most popular Hallmark Christmas movies shows they're mostly a hit with the Medicare crowd, with over half of the audience aged 65 and up. "
Mostly a hit with Medicare crowd. A quick Google search shows mental decline can start as early as 45.
I wouldn't be surprised if these people thought they were living in a Hallmark movie at any given time.

It is, the app itself is not so bad. A lot of people on Reddit hate the watch and the app but so far with my use these last few months it's been very nice, all my data lined out nicely, easy to read.

Hey, you'll get there! I'm new to running myself. The secret to running long distance is finding a comfortable speed. I used to go out and run as fast as I could and I'd burn up. So once you find a good pace things level out.

Right?! I finally fell asleep at 2 and got up at 5 and went out(I've wanted to do an early morning run for a long time) but as soon as I got moving I didn't feel sleepy or tired at all

Thanks, it's crazy that it stayed low, I only managed 3hrs of sleep the night before running

Mobvoi health, it is the companion app for the Ticwatch
I took a new route on the way back and it added .70 or miles to it so actual 15mi was completed in 3hr 24m. After I saw the 15 on my watch I said screw it I'm walking the rest .

I know! And tbh it really didn't feel like 3 hrs, time goes by a lot quicker than you think

A few yall probably remember me asking about runners knee or pain due to running, well I'm getting better at it yall. This was the first time I had to actually take water and fuel with me. Sipping on a camelpak every 15 mins or so, and then fuel every hour. The run itself wasn't too bad, I started to develop a blister on the ball of my foot but I think my right knee is collapsing when I get tired. Anyways, my dream of running a marathon is getting closer.

Gonna be honest the only older game I had trouble on windows with was Dragon Age Origins. No matter what I did, it crashed out every time

But before that I've done leg press and calf raises and the like, some stationary bike. Free weight with barbells really scared me because I don't want to mess up my back with bad form. Like it scared me to the point that I'd get under the bar and I start shaking because I don't want to mess up. But now I can under there and do it, it's just my legs are really tight and it gets hard getting down into a low squat
Conman_Signor 10 months ago • 100%
For reference I started lifting with machines first, because injury with the barbells scared the hell out of me, and then one day I was in there alone and finally tried it and it wasn't too bad, I've just got really tight hamstrings

The first leg I've done in 7 years was friday. Before that I was just running 4 days a week(easy run, tempo, interval, and long run). I have huge legs but trying these different compound movements makes me realize how weak I am
Conman_Signor 10 months ago • 100%
I mean I get about 6-7hrs daily. My work schedule makes things hard, and then with overtime being unpredictable it's hard
Conman_Signor 10 months ago • 100%
Well I've been going for about 4 months but I was only doing speed training on the treadmill, I starting lifting about 3 weeks ago. I try to get 2 days at least of squats but it's getting hard
Basically, it's been five days and I'm unable to even sit in a chair without a struggle. I didn't go too hard, mainly squats and leg press. I didn't think it would take this long to recover considering I still run 4 times a week. Is it normal to be this sore and what can I do to help it? I really really want to get back in there and work on my squat form but I can't even get close to parallel right now due to the soreness Edit* side note I went from an extremely sedentary lifestyle to a very active one about 6 months ago, starting with running but now my legs are paying the price of no strength training. So it may be that I'm just so new to the workouts

Me, every single time I have an extended amount of time off from work. There's so much time I can do anything I want, what's there even to do. What do I want to do? Wrestle with that until the last day then find something I really want to do and end up not having a lot of time for it.
Conman_Signor 12 months ago • 100%
Same. Got my steam deck week before last. It really cut into my running time.
Conman_Signor 12 months ago • 100%
Dude! Same, I lose confidence for some reason and have anxiety about running but as soon as I just do it I feel better. It just feels like climbing a mountain sometimes to just get started again.
Conman_Signor 12 months ago • 100%
Yeah that could be it, I usually run from my house due to time constraints, (I work 11am to 11pm). I'd love to find somewhere to do some trail running
I have the get up and go to run every other day or everyday for maybe two or three months at a time. Then, out of the blue, I'll skip a run, then two runs, then the whole week. I'm currently in one of these ruts(I'm lacing up my shoes right now, I swear) but I was just wondering if anyone has any strategies for getting out of it. Mine is brute force my way back into it until I'm back in the groove. But this usually ends with me doing too many miles too quickly. Then the injury, the the time off, oh the cycle repeats. What are your strategies for getting out of a rut? Or even better not getting into it in the first place?

This. This is what I was looking for. I currently game on my laptop so I can break it out and play then put it up so it doesn't get messed with( little one running around). The idea of a dedicated gaming room seems awesome but It also seems like a way to close yourself off. And I don't like that. I like being able to hangout in the same room with everyone and still play my games.

I mean honestly I just keep mine in the living room. Keeps me involved in family time and I'm not locking myself away

Just be patient. The developer has been active in the boost community, and has stated that he expects release before the end of August. I'm using sync for now til it drops. Boost was my favorite way to surf Reddit and I don't think it's gonna change on lemmy

Oh yeah definitely. I usually run/walk. I try not to jog, because of how hard the impact is on my knees. When I did interval running(sprint for so long, then walk for so long) I never hurt this bad. And because my running doesn't make me hit the pavement as hard I never had issues. It was when I went to jogging that everything hurt. But I'm definitely gonna do some walking lightly to stretch and keep things moving.

Just got back dr says nothing for 2 weeks, no running, no cycling. So I'm at a loss right now. I might try and do some very easy walking just to keep blood flowing. I don't want to just sit and do nothing all day every day.
Conman_Signor 1 year ago • 100%
Just got back from the dr and I'm off the road for 2 weeks. Can't bike or anything. I might still get in some walking just to keep my muscles active but no running or high impact.

I did squats and deadlifts the other day and BIGGEST issue is keeping my glutes tight. Every thing else does what it's supposed to during the lift but my glutes are just not keeping up

I've been thinking of going to the gym for strength training, I'm pretty new to all this so haven tbeen sure what to work on to help with the running. Also I believe I've got some pretty weak glutes and hip flexor. But when i started running my back pain disappeared so I thought just that would help

Yeah I got an appointment here in an hour or so. Also no program, I just went into it blind. And I listened to my body, ran only when I felt good physically. Just monday went for a nice easy 3mi and halfway through my knee just lit up with pain. Also no ego actually, just got ahead of myself and fell in love with running and took it too far too quick. Now here I am looking for alternatives while I heal

Thanks! This is what I was looking for. And it really sucks, I was up around 3 miles every other day. And I'm sure the dr is going to tell me to stop for a while. Also doesn't help I work 12hrs a day in steel toes on concrete. So I really don't get a good break for my legs. Idk man, this situation just really sucks
Basically, I took on too many miles too quick. And boom knee pain even when walking now. I don't want to stop moving entirely, but I'm just not sure what I should be during this downtime. I'm pretty new to running so only been doing it for about 2 weeks and I'm a little heavier, so it probably beat my legs up. But I love running and don't want to give it up.
The game is too easy to get lost in side adventures. I've sunk a lot of hours just doing my own thing, I forget all about High Hrothgar. Usually it's straight to the thieves guild and then I wander around til something strikes my fancy. That and Dradric Armor. Gotta hit up the College for that. Oh and let's not forget Dawnguard. Gotta go pick up my girl, Serena. Just a good game all around.
I've seen quite a few homes with no tvs to be seen, like what are yall doing with your time? I couldn't imagine a family room without a tv.
Not mine and not claiming
Also henceforth I will be changing the name to Daily Mass Effect ( cause I'm tired of typing all that)
Basically the title. I'm having a hard time playing this on my phone because it gets so hot, but at the same time playing on my pc the controls feel to weird for me to get into the swing of things. Maybe I'd be better off playing on playatation? Idk give me your opinions, what's comfortable for you and why? I really like this game but I just can't seem to find the best way to play it
Basically I want to create another account so that I can start a few communities, since lemmy.one doesn't allow for community creation. But after filling out the sign up details it never loads or completes

I get too excited when talking others and tend to chase the rabbit so to speak. I'll join a conversation and by the end I've pretty much taken over with whatever I'm talking about and I feel like it overwhelms others. Yall have this issue?
Really excited to be here for the start of the community! I want to see it grow into something beautiful
