Mo in the yard.

"Mowin' the yard." Get it? *Ba dum tss* We're about a month post FHO hip surgery. Finally getting to leave the cat jail and stretch the legs a bit. Also day 2 of harness training so there's a lot of laying down in protest. Poor guy's had some rough luck but he's getting back to his normal self.

Cat Jail.

[I tried to warn him](https://lemmy.sdf.org/post/14220081), the US Postal Inspection Service does not mess around! Week 3 of confinement after FHO hip surgery and we're already at the "throwing feces through the cell bars" stage. I'm afraid he may be institutionalized. All in all tho he's been a very good sport for someone that was a street cat 6 months ago. One more week to go and we'll be able to get out and take some less depressing photos. Side note: He loves the freeze dried chicken hearts from Chewy. But I was not prepared for the morbidness (if you need to break them in half; just, don't look).

My dog hasn't eaten anything for 2-3 days.

My dog hasn't eaten anything for days and I've tried everything. He stopped eating his chicken and soft food, he won't eat any vegetables that I try to give him, he'll barely lick peanut butter, and refuses to have treats. I'm literally trying to feed him bacon at this point, but I don't think it's gonna do anything. He's 15 and my dad is saying he's probably dying. This has all progress over a week.

Dash Cat

Mo loves riding around on the dash like this. It's not safe at all so he only gets to go up and down the alley. Pls excuse my filthy work truck. Sidenote: You don't have to post it, but send my boy some good vibes; He's got hip surgery next week.

Technically a felony.

I tried explaining how serious the ramifications are, but he's got a real problem with authority.

Pretty Boy Mo

Mo is the night security guard at work. After hours it's strictly business, but during the day he mostly just lounges around and supervises random projects. #catswithjobs

What other options do I have if I temporarily adopt a sick kitten and can't find someone who want to adopt it once it is cured?

So, in the beginning some two weeks ago or so a cat mom came to my yard with 5 kittens but I started to note that the mom sets aside or ignores one of her offspring that seems to have conjunctivitis and flu, so I started to take care of the kitten and it have improved a lot, but there's something strange with she because basically stays in the same place all the day without moving. She's not sick in the meaning that's bad because she eats and plays and all those things, but honestly it worries me that something bad happens to her because of that so I'm determined to keep her in my house while she gets better and then I give her up for adoption, but I'm afraid of not finding someone who want to adopt her... I already have enough cats for just one person and all of them were adopted in the same conditions as this kitten, but the difference is that I can't have more cats, I simply can't, the last time I did this I adopted a pregnant cat and I was supposedly to find a home to her kittens but my dad passed away just when I was going to give them for adoption and now I can't find someone who wants to adopt them... I know of some Facebook groups in my area where kittens are given up for adoption, and there seems to be quite a lot of demand. I'm willing to create a Facebook account just to find a home for that kitten but what if I can't find anyone who wants her? Almost all my family already have cats so I doubt they want to adopt one more, and I also know of several vets where they accept kittens no older than 2 months to give them up for adoption, but I'll be honest, maybe it's a stupid thought but I would be very sad to take care of that kitten for a while and then leave her in a place where she won't even have space to move and I don't even know who would adopt her...

Eight cats are too many? (Solved)

Personally I never wanted to have more than 3 or 4 cats but already having 4 cats one day I took the decision to adopt a stray cat that was pregnant because where I live there are many stray cats and really most of the they have a miserable life or die young (just between last year and this one, I took care of two baby cats that had been abandoned by their mothers, and I say this with confidence because I heard them crying for days and when I went to rescue them they were plagued with fleas and conjunctivitis), so I left her in a separate room and there she gave birth 3 or 4 months ago to 3 kittens. At first my intention was never to keep the kittens, since they born I started to look for people who wanted to adopt baby cats and even asked in nearby veterinaries but they were going to live locked in a cage until someone adopted them and honestly I think it is a little unfair for them considering that since they were born they have lived in a spacious room with all their needs. So I really gave up looking for someone who wants to adopt them and I guess I will keep them, but really despite having a lot of experience with cats and having enough space for them and everything to meet their basic needs every day I feel stressed and as if I had a burden on me because I feel that there are too many cats for me alone, because I practically live alone (I take care of my father) and I don't know, this was not really what I wanted nor was my intention. Thanks for reading. Edit: Thanks to those who commented, I was able to open my eyes and in a week I will give the kittens to a veterinary center where they will take care of their adoption. Sincerely it hurts my soul to have to do this but it is necessary, both to ensure a decent life for the kittens and for my mental health.

Seeking help for my boy

[fundraising page here](https://gofund.me/dee4bbd4) Never thought I'd find myself in this position, but here I am. Late one night last week, Bernie really wasn't himself and we felt a mass in his belly. We called an advice line and were told it was an emergency situation, and that we needed to get him to an out of hours vet immediately. Once he was checked, we learned he was suffering from something called idiopathic feline lower urinary tract disease, meaning his urethra is constricting and not allowing him to pass urine. He has had 3 catheters, and is still unable to urinate. A fourth catheter has been inserted today, until he can (hopefully) have surgery on Monday. The only option now to avoid losing him, is a procedure called perennial urethrostomy, to create a new opening in his urethra, so that he can urinate. Unfortunately the care he has already received over the past week has taken us up to the limit of his insurance cover, and we have been quoted £6,500 for the procedure. We are of course working to raise the funds ourselves, but the avenues we're exploring aren't guaranteed and if approved, are likely to take some time to get to us. This is a living nightmare for us, so I'm throwing myself at the aid of the internet. Even if all you can do is share the GoFundMe link where you think it may be seen by someone who can help, we would all be so grateful. [fundraising page here](https://gofund.me/dee4bbd4)

Brought my pup to work today. Don't tell him, he's getting his rabies booster this afternoon

He's just curled up in his crate, so chill. Old man dogs (he's 16) are great.
