HK is far and away the #1 least affordable housing market ranked by housing cost divided by median income. 18 years of the current median income is required to buy a home in HK. That is your entire income going towards housing for 18 years if you don't eat, use electricity, pay taxes, etc. Not including interest on a mortgage. Sydney Australia is in second place with 13.3 times their median income. Vancouver, Canada is third with 12.0

Hong Kong police on Tuesday arrested a man suspected of molesting a Korean visitor while she was live-streaming for her solo travel blog in Central. The force said the 46-year-old suspect was picked up on Belcher’s Street in Kennedy Town at about 11am on Tuesday. The man, who works as a waiter, was detained on suspicion of indecent assault and outraging public decency, according to Inspector Kong Wai-ming of the Central criminal investigation unit. She said officers also seized clothes and shoes that matched what the man who assaulted the woman was wearing.

I went to visit some older family friends recently and brought some fruits which included some figs. I was told that figs aren't commonly eaten in HK but I see them quite often. Obviously the more common meats used are chicken, pork, fish, seafood, and to a lesser extent beef. Brocolli (the western kind) isn't commonly found but we have various chois and gai lan. What other western items do you think are less common in HK?
When it comes to HK, most people think of dim sum, dong lai cha (HK style milk tea), daan tat (HK style egg tart), gai daan jai (egg bubble waffle), maybe going to a cha chaan teng. For me, it's put chai gou (pudding cake on a stick).
