Those who do not support the current capitalist public education system, what do you think we should do about it? (when we can)

The public education system in many capitalist countries has been highly criticized for allegedly dumbing down students and/or killing their creativity. On the other hand, getting rid of schools would probably lead to a reduction in literacy and qualifications. Thus, it would be necessary to reform education somehow. Here are some proposed options: Socialist Values - Keep the current education system, but instead of teaching capitalist values, teach socialist ones. Grades, homework, tests, etc. remain a thing. Montessori - Public schools all perform like the Montessori model: Students learn at their own pace, are encouraged to do student-led activites, and are guided by adults who act like mentors. Homework is minimal, if it is even assigned at all. Grades in Montessori exist but are done differently, instead of checking how well one has completed assignments, the mentor grades each student by how well they believe they are progressing. Democratic Schools - Grades and curriculum are entirely abolished. Here, students are expected to be in charge of their own education and are even given the opportunity to decide many of the decisions made by the school. Children and adults are seen as equals to each other in this model. The most famous instance of this is the Sudbury School. These are just the ideas I can think of right now. Which ones do you guys agree with, or do you have another idea not listed here?

APUSH debunks?

What information you have that debunks material taught in AP US History? I've noticed that there's a lot of misinformation in those books, such as blaming Native Americans for damaging of bison population, when really it was the colonizers and climate change that affected their populations. What do ya have to offer?

Thoughts on Electronic Engineering? (STEM)

Correct me if I'm wrong but Electronic Engineering is part of STEM. I keep hearing that STEM is one of the best fields to be in if you're looking for a comfortable life. I'm gonna be forced into college soon, and I'm wondering of a good degree to get while I'm there, and what scholarships to be searching for. Originally I want to do audio engineering, but I heard that electronic engineering would be suitable since it's in demand. What are your thoughts on this? What things to look out on for STEM and what truths do you have about STEM? Is all of this even worth it?

Making a okay/decent living without college?

In today's world, especially in the US, we're told that we need to go to college and get an education in order to have a decent living. But nowadays it's not so easy, and it's only boomers telling us how easy it was. College is causing many students to get in debt so early in their life. There are scholarships, however for some that'll be a hassle to obtain considering other factors in life. What would you suggest?

Some things I don't like about edu and academia.

It tries to regulate your information access (what you are allowed to know and not know and when). They like to dictate your body (like where you need to be and when you go to the bathroom). Scoring systems are manipulative and exploitative and actually not constructive to learning. The edu system is more about conditioning kids for capitalism more than anything else. Academia tries to act as fact bearers and they like to keep a monopoly on stuff like research. They are professional gate keeper credentialists. Some thought policing vibes I get from some people. Seems like all the radical thinkers were sadly cleared out and what's left is dominated by boot licking liberals and reactionaries. I'm Californian.
