I’m pretty sure at least some of Google’s workers are also ch!nlords.
There was a post here months ago about an official statement from some suit at Google claiming how they aren't a political platform and other handwaving capitalist bullshit in response to their employees protesting Google's supportive relationship with Israel. Screenshots from some social media platform for techbros were posted wherein this topic was being discussed, just despicable reactionary shit from everyone involved. My memory of it may be exaggerated by the rage I felt but it made me think of a fucking /pol/ thread exclusively populated by Silicon Valley type neckbeards. Google and Microsoft were among the companies these filth were working for.
I previously tried to find the post with search but haven't had luck.

If it helps any, you're not suffering alone. The only texts I get are directly from and for whatever job I happen to have, or an appointment I've made somewhere. I've tried starting and keeping some texting going with a couple of people I grew up with as close friends, it never lasts more than a few days, and then over a year passes in silence. It has happened several times already and I've given up on trying any more.

The cylinder in which porky and pals sat was the center segment that imploded and shattered. The hemispherical end cap (not pictured) and tail portion which held the support hardware (shown in the screencap) were bolted to either end of the deathtube.

That was a great video. He spends like 5 straight minutes at the beginning just dropping hard truth bombs all over xenophobic liberal bullshit. Plus the reference to Shaun and his Japan atomic bombing debunkings video. Never knew about this channel until now, seems like an objectively good guy and a comrade. Gulag for everyone involved with the writing and "research" done for that pile of dreck.

Yes there has been a consolidation over the decades into few large, corporate operations. You can still buy fresh produce and other farm goods locally from the same people who grew them in "farmer's markets" in towns and cities, but these are only in limited times of year and locations. For most Americans the food they buy and eat will have come to their supermarket from some massive factory-like supply chain, average distance of over 1,000 miles away, or something like that (I've not read up on this topic in many years).
The documentary Food, Inc. narrates a surprising and dark picture of the state of farming in the U.S., and it was filmed 17 years ago! So food production has progressed further into profits-at-all-cost corporate hands since then. Similar things happened with smaller, often local, goods stores disappearing during 1980s-1990s due to emergence of large shopping malls and multi-department corporate chains like Walmart and Target (you may see this referred to as the Main Street "ghost town").

While I regret that our health care system regularly forces people to consider cost when making life-or-death decisions, I’m grateful that insurance will help my husband and me pay for the health care we need.
Still love the truck, though!
The level of self-submission to ruthless, cutthroat capitalist ideology on display here is astounding, not surprising any more but astounding. I would even classify this as self-harming thought. The people of this country are utterly beyond hope.
I want to believe Kamala Harris is right when she says “we are not going back” to a time when every calamity leaves us on our own.
I, too, am pumped to see what other progressive, highly beneficial bangers the "2.7% interest rate reduction on Federal/non-private student loan debt while operating a charitable business for >3 years in a disadvantaged community" capitalist comes up with next.

There was a year or two of relief for job seekers in the wake of the COVID19 half-measures where higher-ups had their HR departments unclench their worthless assholes just enough to give someone a chance at actually getting hired. It was, in my lived experience, much easier to get favorable responses to applications and then 'pass' interviews in 2020 and 2021 than at any other point in my life, including right now. Your suspicions are correct, businesses are absolutely back to cherrypicking applicants, it's like trying to get hired during the 2008-2009 peak of recession again.

Same shit here. Applying at jobs I'm legitimately qualified for and able-bodied enough to do, then getting ghosted, rejected by automated email after 1-7 days, or maybe given an interview and then rejected 3-5 days after that. Some places I have 5 or 6 applications at over a period of a few years, all rejected before an interview without explanation. If I didn't already have major chronic depression before starting adult life, I sure as fuck would've after being forced into the capitalist labor market.

That sort of data might be found over at /r/FuckYourHeadlights on the Other Site. So many people are fed up with these eye damaging laser headlights they've made a subreddit for it, there is even an organized group with their own website trying to push back against this unrestrained bullshit.
Someone there did a controlled study on a selection of newer cars and posted their findings. The two pinned posts may already have the exact data you're interested in.

Add on-campus housing and food plan and it's another $8-15k per year on top of that for in-state, maybe more now. And that covers the two main semesters only, summer and winter sessions have their own extra costs.

That one and some others were deleted by order of then-CEO Ellen Pao, it was like throwing a lit match into a powderkeg. The things r*ddit holds most dearly - misogyny, racism, and xenophobia - erupted from its sizeable population of reactionary neckbeards into a shitstorm of fist-pounding tantrums like nothing the site had seen to that point. The insults and threats of violent fantasies were endless and many were Sinophobic in nature. A few years after it happened I remember a discussion (maybe on /r/ShitRedditSays or similar) around how the bigots who inhabited /r/FatPeopleHate et. al., were heavily overlapped with same crowd who would later be found in The_Donald and related right-wing hate subs.
NATOpedia has an article for her and there's some detail on this incident if you want more slop on it (I didn't read every word of the article, just skimmed, so can't say whether it's tainted/biased by one of the neckbeard power editors).

Proles in the U.S. be like: "First time?"
Across England, 83% of dental surgeries were refusing to accept adults as patients seeking NHS care
This sounds like the class discrimination that comes with U.S. states' medicare programs. A state here never has enough funding to meet the high financial cost of many medical practitioner fiefdoms, so the poor and most needy get de-prioritized and kicked to the curb. Waiting times for care are long and few places will take such patients, in addition to giving only the bare minimum of material assistance (i.e. the cheapest "get them out the door" fix for their ailments). Story as old as time under privatized capitalist healthcare regimes.
“Further measures to improve access and increase the number of NHS dentists through our dental recovery plan will be set out shortly.”

Being a citizen of Burgerland I twitch reflexively when I see that in healthcare discussion.

Never seen that on my Firefox install with uBO, I'm only getting that passive-aggressive 3-second delay (which is definitely not intentional...) on every video page load since the war on adblockers started.
Related, the "free with ads" section under "Movies & TV" on the left column is completely broken for me, it's just a blank white page on Firefox with or w/o uBlock Origin active for at least three months now whether logged in or not, in regular and private browsing mode. And now it's broken on unmodified Edge too (was working until a few weeks ago, was copying & pasting the movie links into Firefox). I used it all the time when looking for something to run in the background since like 2019, checked it every week or three when new titles got rotated into the catalog.
The page in question is here if anyone wants to try it.
Goog just doing what Goog does best. Breaking shit, never fixing the shit they broke, and generally chipping away at the dwindling good will and user experience they've held onto for some years now.

This is nearly identical to my own story. For me, severe depression and autism basically determine what I'm able to tolerate. I've found that out over many painful years. The jobs that are typically easiest for me to get, for example bottom-tier factory/linework and customer service shit, I literally cannot bear mentally. I just can't fucking do them. I borderline lose my sanity and cannot control my anger under those conditions, wondering how the fuck the majority ever allowed the abusive minority to herd so many working class into such inhumane conditions.
The rage I've accumulated through years of being forced into whatever coercive, low paying, dead-end jobs I was barely able to get hired for where the workers are treated as disposable trash to be used like slave mules could ignite a new fucking sun. Trying to simply exist and not be homeless (which I have been, more than once) under capitalism is a living nightmare.
[@AgreeableLandscape](https://lemmygrad.ml/u/AgreeableLandscape)'s post [about the book *1984* by George Orwell](https://lemmygrad.ml/post/31898) just spurred my thoughts and I felt like sharing. Nothing more, just my take on it over the years: The narratives about the telescreens struck me the most, seeing how they were used to express a pervasive, unavoidable presence of snitches and thought policing present in every waking moment in the fictional, strawmanned communist society. Western capitalist nations these days are *total* surveillance states, everything you do from either an internet connection or being out in public under the collective eye of uncountable and often unseen cameras is recorded somewhere, on some remote server, with fuck knows how much metadata to accompany it, kept for some unknowable amount of time, if not forever, with no accountability or control over any of it granted to the citizens being surveilled. Your every bank and card transaction (with accompanying video if made in-person) and records of debt/credit are stored digitally with multiple backups around the country impervious to activist destruction or weather events, but accessible to anyone in the government or corrupted police forces at any time. You're opted in, with or without consent or knowledge, to a corrupt and unaccountable credit reporting system that tracks all your financial activity throughout your life (frequently without accuracy) and determines how easy of a time you'll have in this modern hell wherein money is held higher than any deity and is needed for literally every aspect of simply *living*. Your smartphone, equipped with multiple cameras and a microphone, operated by hardware and firmware made by privatised capitalist entities (frequently Qualcomm), is equally accessible to state-level agencies; LineageOS or whatever will mostly keep Google from harvesting an ocean of your personal data, but it doesn't help you when the cellular radio firmware (baseband) is so often a closed "binary blob" of unknowable code that interacts with the network at a level below and independent of the authority of the OS software, even when the device is off. These combined with the newer "smart TVs" are the literal, actual telescreens which watch and listen to everything we do in service of capitalist and neoliberal masters. Every moment of interaction with any police is recorded in sound and video (unless they had plans to murder you in advance, in which case the surveillance is turned off). Your ISP holds all records of your interactions with every website you visit, say something naughty enough about a shithead neoliberal politician on a privatised social platform, or talk enough bad about the system of capitalism itself, and all your details are gleefully turned over to the pork at their request and you get a knock at your door. A lesser form of this snitching is seen when "owners" of intellectual """"property"""" rat out users in bittorrent swarms sharing movies etc., casting the widest net possible to increase chances of a life-ruining lawsuit sticking to some of them, and they do it thousands of times per day with full compliance from the ISPs due to laws written by and for the oligarchy to protect capital interests. Modern journalism and news are perverted, falsified, and shaped in equal parts by both a violent, highly individualist and reactionary society who have been conditioned to respond only to negative stories, and by force of being controlled from by a small number of multinational megacorporations handing down doctrines of biased pro-capitalism horseshit to keep the narrative on the side of the oligarchy. I could keep going but I have other shit to do. What I'm trying to say with all this is even though *1984* was apparently written to show what some strawmanned "communist" dystopia would be like, in reality and bittersweet irony it ended up envisioning capitalism to the fucking letter.
There have been plenty of videos examining the YouTube far-right radicalization machine, but far fewer looking at the effect of Fox News and conservative talk radio hosts on older generations. This video is an attempt to explain why so many people from our parents' generation have spiraled into nationalism and in some cases, even into fascism.
