    Great article.

Israeli liberals and Western diplomats tend to believe there are two paths forward: a binational, single state, or the two-state solution.

I fucking wish Israeli liberals would be in for a binational state. This is an extremely fringe opinion among Jews. The secular liberals generally prefer a two-state solution or just keeping the status quo (and just "managing it better"™️).

This article seems like writing for the sake of writing, or rather padding the blog page on your personal site

Is there a chance to exclude community RSS endpoints from the IP block?

Hey sup:) Idk if it's Cloudflare or something, but the problem is I have an RSS reader hosted on my Hetzner server in Germany, and requests originating from its IP are blocked. Well not exactly blocked, but they return HTML titled "Just a second..." rather than just RSS. For example: `GET https://programming.dev/feeds/c/python.xml?sort=Active` ``` <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en-US"> <head> <title>Just a moment...</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=Edge"> <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow"> ... ``` Obviously I totally understand if you wouldn't want to do that – I'm sure it's there for a reason, I was just hoping that this single endpoint could be an exception =] Thanks!

Is there actually any rise in antisemitism in your country? What's your experience with it?

Hebrew media touts "antisemitic incidents" quite a bit recently, most of them being ordinary anti-genocide rallies/protests/sayings. So I'm not talking about these, obviously. I do wanna talk about the rest of them: vandalism, physical or verbal attacks directed towards Jews that regard merely their religion/ethnicity and not their views of the genocide. Have you or your first circle experienced more hostility since Oct 7th? How often do people assume you're a Zionist after they find out you're Jewish, and does it happen more often now? I kinda hope to hear it's all overblown 🥴 חג שמח!

Opinion on Pulumi vs cdk8s for provisioning Kubernetes?

I can't seem to find any trace of comparison between these specific libraries. I'm planning on using Python for them. I just don't wanna write YAML. Pulumi seems more prone to the ["single vendor is the new proprietary"](https://opensource.net/why-single-vendor-is-the-new-proprietary) theory, because they're an actual business and shit, so might do a bait and switch here Terraform-style. But that's the only difference I can spot besides obvious API differences. Does anyone have an opinion?:)

Incredibly common, but I don't really have an indication as to whether it's an extreme amount or not, because I've lived here my entire life and haven't been abroad too much, so I'll try describing it their presence in public:

    • Soldiers are one of the primary users of public transport, because they're teens and they barely have shuttle buses
    • Some administrative/technological roles in the military might not provide you with lodging, so it looks like a 9-5. Sometimes you'll end your day and go fuck around in the city while in uniform; I did that frequently
    • Infantry soldiers have a choice when going back home for the weekend: either wait hours for the privilege to deposit their weapon in a safe, or just take it with them home and carry it around

Love it! I did feel uncomfortable with 2010s-Facebook-style excessive public sharing. Most of my friends, with me included, abuse the close friends Instagram feature and I'm all for it. I know a couple of people who deleted their old Facebook accounts because digital footprint was too frightening – particularly, the shit they posted during their teens in private Facebook groups that they have long left.

All of this is obviously not related whatsoever to data harvesting; this fight is against individual stalkers rather than corporate ones. But it's a blessed one non the less; stalking shouldn't really be a thing.

Hey:) So regarding the "unnatural humanity", that's mistranslated. Freely translating what she wrote would be "irregular humanity", but idiomatically it would be translated to "extraordinary humanity" or something.

Other than that, the translation is accurate enough. The translator took the liberty to make it way more poetic, but the overall tone is the same.

The only suspicious thing I encountered is the use of the word "generals":

    1. She wrote ג׳נרל (Jeneral, like how you pronounce it in English) while in Hebrew you'd say it with a hard G. That's close enough to how you say it in Arabic (Jiniral)
    2. Nobody uses that word in a non-derogatory way. They'd usually say קצין (officer)

I wouldn't get too hung up on this letter though. It was a weird and uncanny read. I think there is other, more solid evidence that can enjoy that focus instead

It's called the "Israel Economic Stabilization Plan". It's a series of blitz privatizations done to handle inflation. The meddling part came into play at the offices of the Israeli ministry of finance – there were loads of Friedman-inspired economists sent by the US to participate in the meetings they held regarding the soaring inflation. The US also offered financial support (I think like a billion dollars or smth) conditioned by these privatizations.

This is of course nothing like US meddling with brown people - there was no blood spilled (excluding people dying of poverty 🥸), but meddling it was nontheless.

Unfortunately the only lefty source I can point to regarding the topic is in Hebrew. The meddling is not mentioned on any English source I found (or Hebrew for that matter). This move is actually regarded as ingenious among economists :) Just for shits and giggles, here's the Hebrew source, idk, for lurkers

Not normal, indeed Israeli Jews tens to show forgiveness to the people in power during Gaza bombardments. An old trick is to drop some bombs on Gazans before elections in order to get the polls up, used both by Netanyahu and his current opposition when they had a one-year government.

The thing is, in addition to what commenters below me said which are completely right, our current public infrastructure is in an ongoing privatization process since the US meddling in 1985. They were not able to handle the flood of Israelis fleeing from border-adjacent areas, and they left citizens to pick up this task by themselves. They couldn't find the money to house and feed them, let alone handle the developing first- and second-hand trauma. It has to do both with privatization and corrupt inadequate nominations (thoroughly covered by the media in the last year).
