Nice! I really like the colours. By the way, have you played Hacknet? Your wallpaper is from that game!

people like your bro are the "target audience" ig.
The r/murderdrones community was a pretty big subreddit. Why not move it over to Lemmy?

"I have nothing to hide" Yes you do. Yes you do. Here's my email: not_a_real_email@thisisan.analogy Send me all your login combinations for every single account you have. If you feel creeped out, then why are you not creeped out at how these corporations spy on you?

Take my up vote and get the fuck out.

So, recently, I've been watching Murder Drones, and I was wondering, why there are more absoluteSolver (AS) prototypes even after the Gala Incident. (From now on I will be referring to absoluteSolver as AS) Since JCJenson is a private company driven by profit, It would make sense for them to begin using it as a weapon, one that they could sell to militaries (US Army, Russia, IDF, etc.) in order to make money. The potential of AS as a weapon is... frightening. Cyn was able to get rid of Tessa's parents in **less than a second.** Imagine what that could do to, let's say, a group of 10 soldiers. They would die in mere seconds. Sure, morality would get in the way, why would you sell something so deadly for profit, what if WW3 starts, whatever. Companies don't **care** about morality. They care about profit. Profit is the only thing that matters to it, not their users, not even long-term sustainability. (e.g. Reddit, Twitter) So why would JCJ **not** sell this potential superweapon? This would also explain why Yeva had that O_O face in the group photo. She knew better than anyone that they were literal **military weapons** designed and manufactured to **kill people**. No one would want to live knowing that their only purpose in life is **murder**. Everyone else didn't know or wasn't thinking about it. Come to think of it, this is **very** likely. The idea of an autonomous superweapon would also be a pretty dangerous scenario if it goes corrupt, which is **exactly** what happened in the E1 ending.

...I doubt anyone from r/murder drones will come over but lemmy create it, because why not.

wish i could get my family to understand FOSS software and decentralisation and all that, and why it's important. sadly, they can't even figure out that "you can't use a work or school account on this version of microsoft teams" means they have to go and download the work/school version of microsoft teams, so getting them to understand all that would be difficult

Thanks a lot. I'm honestly getting tired of having reddit undelete my data over and over again despite me having a European ip address and running PDS every time I find out they reset everything.
Vuraniute 1 year ago • 100%
Might actually do this. Tried to delete/edit all my posts with PDS, but reddit keeps reading them.
Vuraniute 1 year ago • 100%
- That's a violation of GDPR's right to be forgotten
- But that doesn't mean reddit isn't doing it. I deleted all of my posts, but they were all undelete. And I'm European, so valid grounds for a lawsuit I guess.
Vuraniute 1 year ago • 100%
Can confirm Reddit is undeleting posts. Some (not all) of my posts and comments are back, despite me using shreddit to delete them. Gonna edit them with PDS.

Sadly it's not available in the AUR... yet. You have to download (or compile) the binary itself. Also it's dependent on figlet (unless you don't want the ascii art on top), but I'm working on that.

Unless you have a novideo GPU. As Linus Torvalds said, "Nvidia, Fuck you! ╭∩╮( •̀_•́ )"

Understandable. However, a major point of the blackout is not using the site to make reddit's usage go down. What about that?

Extremely similar to Sway, just with eye candy. No compatibility issues because I use an AMD Radeon graphics card (I used to have a GTX 1050 and that drove me away from Wayland for a while) Only thing is neovim highlights SwayFX-exclusive options as invalid ¯_(ツ)_/¯

... You didn't answer my question. Wouldn't this be considered spam?
Vuraniute 1 year ago • 100%
Same. Used shreddit.com and nuked my comments AND posts. I won't leave any content for that idiot known as u/spez. Only way for Reddit to be a good platform is to scale down and fire him faster than a Concorde travels a metre.
Vuraniute 1 year ago • 100%
True, true. What I care about is the fact that rather than picking a good solution, u/spez goes and straight up kills third party apps.
Spez behaves like a 7 year old. He has 0 logical reasoning. "Third party apps are 90% of the platform. We need people to use our official app so we can be profitable." logical answer here is "make the official app good", spez answer is "kill third party apps". What a sad joke.

Obviously they'll say that it was the "communities opinion" that forced their hand (no it didn't, only thing that forced them was the blackout and mass deletions), and how they "respect the community" when they only respect their wallet. Also probably asking all those who nuked their accounts to come back (we aren't)
Vuraniute 1 year ago • 100%
BIG same. I was frustrated with a "use our official app plsz" taking up half my screen on the mobile browser, along with other... shenanigans, let's call them. Killing 3rd-party apps (which are the only way I use Reddit on my phone) was something I wouldn't handle. Deleted all my comments and posts after the site went back up and left only an announcement of my departure along with my lemmy handle.

I'm pretty good at English and would like to volunteer - but I do have one objection: Wouldn't this be considered spam?
Vuraniute 1 year ago • 100%
Here's a fun fact: I've actually distro-hopped and gone back to arch so many times, that I can actually do this. What distro-hopping (and a photographic memory I guess) does to a man. (Sorry for my bad English, I'm not a native speaker)

Agreed. Reddit is a burning trainwreck you can't look away from at this point. I'm not gonna be in the trainwreck, but rather I'll just watch it from here (aka lemmy)
Vuraniute 1 year ago • 100%
Have done the exact same, except I deleted all comments and posts (with shreddit.com if you want to do the same) and left only one post: a statement about the whole reddit API fiasco (and how it is unacceptable) and my lemmy username and instance. (Sorry for my terrible English, I'm not a native speaker)
