I think that at the moment many communities are too fragmented. A lot of them seem to be a single person. There is a sweet spot regarding size, and that number is different from community to community. I wish people would avoid making duplicates if they didn't have at least one other person ready to join them though.

It seems that using kbin to engage with mastodon and lemmy works a lot better than using mastodon to engage with kbin and lemmy. Can't speak for using Lemmy for kbin and mastodon.

Edit: on kbin to see microblog type posts from users I have subscribed to I need to go to subscribed (found in the dropdown menu between + and username) and then click the Microblog tab. (If I am already on the microblog tab and select subscribed it will take me over to threads, I need to click back over to microblog. I hope this changes.)

  • android Android Do you think a Fold style phone with an eInk display on the outside would work well?

I don't think I am going to want a folding phone for a very long time. An e-ink display on the back of a phone would be cool though.

It looks like at least one company made a prototype of such a thing back in 2013: https://techcrunch.com/2013/01/10/the-yotaphone-has-an-e-ink-display-on-the-back-and-thats-simply-awesome/

I don't know why e-ink never seems to take off outside of e-readers, maybe it's just still too expensive?

    BIFL compression garments

Any suggestions for compression socks and other compression garments of similar quality to darn tough socks? In 2018 I transitioned to wearing regular darn tough socks, and the ones the dog didn't eat are still in good shape. It appears that at one point they did make compression socks, but they no longer do. They have a blog entry directing people to the brand CEP [https://darntough.com/blogs/the-alternate-stitch/compression-socks-supportive-socks](https://darntough.com/blogs/the-alternate-stitch/compression-socks-supportive-socks) Any other brands worth looking into?
