I kept the Mesa trail wp, and the V-Trail, and the Nexus Knit. The V trail were good. The rocks do not hurt anymore. The mesas I won't run in, but walk in the woods in. Lastly the nexus Knit I will use for work. These ones are my absolute favorite.

Yeah, I guess you are right. But I need something a little thicker when running on trails, do you think I gain something by using the V-Trail vs the Xero Mesa Trail or similar, with a little more protection?

I have been hesitant to add my card because of privacy. I particular the fact that my card is linked to my email. What is your take on it?

Vibram five fingers vs other barefoot shoes?

I just got the V-Trail 2.0, but after trying them on indoors, I experienced that they were not that flexible compared to my Xero HFS. Will my VFFs break in or are VFF:s not really worth it in comparison to other barefoot shoes? My toes are not crammed and I use correct toes as often as I can. I have used only barefoot shoes now for a few years.

I don't really know actually. I just want a good bag, that is roomy, has a laptop compartment at the back, quick access pocket when taking one strap off and moving it from back to front. And a bigger not flat pocket for misc stuff (keys, glasses and so on). A water bottle pocket would also be nice to have.

Is the ULA Dragonfly / Aer Travel pack 3 worth it? I live in the EU (shipping+customs= $200 extra), but have friends who live in the states, who visit us once every summer (they could bring it).I Is there a proper alternative in the EU to these two bags around 28-33L?

I would say cheap bamboo underwear would do the trick. The thing about merino underwear is that that may be great and expensive, but do not hold up that well for the price. If it is broken you can not use it, regardless how great it once was when it was not broken.

Thank you for all your nice thoughts and good advice. I think I am just having a low regarding my privacy journey right now, but I will get back up on the horse eventually. I also think I am overestimating, when companies get hold of some information, they have more information about me than I think. Sometimes I think I have to remind myself, that companies are really more interested in my habits and purchasing patterns, than my telephone number. I guess I do, in that regard, mix and confuse privacy with security a bit. I actually do think that my habits make me pretty secure, so then there is just privacy left. :)

I'm glad there are more people here, that are thinking about these daily dilemmas. The thing is, that I have already, since years, converted my family and friends to Signal, family is using it without a problem, but friends are using it pretty seldom, and then they do not get notifications when I am writing to them. So I got them on Signal, but I still can't contact some of them because of the notifications issue.😅 That's what made me write this post about redundancy.

Do you use other means of real time communication other than Signal and plain old SMS?

    Is privacy still worth pursuing?

;TLDR: Is privacy actions on an individual level worth pursuing, when friends and family are doing nothing to strengthen their privacy and when living in a country where my social security number, phone number, and so on, really can not be hidden? Hi fellow DeGooglers. I have spent the last few years degoogling mine, and my GF:s lives and I am really happy about coming as far as I/we have come. I am now starting to doubt alot of the things we have degoogled in our lives and I want to ask this community about it. We live in a country, that has national records about everyone living in the nation. Almost every service the inhabitants of this country use, are relying on social security numbers, phone numbers, email and so on. We also almost daily rely on our banking apps to identify ourselves when using different services. To this day I have persuaded a lot of our friends to use Signal but all of them use Signal as an extra app to communicate with just me or my GF. My GF still has Instagram/Snapchat/Facebook, you name it and I am wondering how private I/we really am/are when the friends I/we are interacting with, are doing nothing to strengthen their privacy? Is I wrote above, it is common for me to give my address, phone number, (throwaway)email when signing up for almost any service in the country I live in. Oftentimes one also has to identify with a form of a banking app, that almost all residents in this country has. I am thinking that alot of the services I, have to, use know who I am, they have my phone number and they are almost certainly sharing it with third party companies (within GDPR). These companies also have the phone numbers of my friends who have my telephone number, and that way, the big data companies could easily link my phone number to who I am, based on that my friends and family have my number in their contacts list. Is privacy worth pursuing on my part, or is it actually just redundant? Could I actually just use, lets say, Whatsapp/Messenger/Snapchat and it would not really matter? Edit1: Services that I use: Proton, Mullvad, GrapheneOS, Simplelogin, Nextcloud, and all the usual FOSS apps everyone is using Services that my GF uses: The same as me, but also Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Messenger and a few more.

I tried it now. I want the option of having widgets on my homescreen, I did not see that option. And from my point of view, the search functionality is not anywhere near Kvaesitso or Kisslauncher.

Yep, the widgets can not be resized to be very small, compare with Neo launcher and you'll see the difference.

    Launcher recommendation

I have tried alot of launchers but never really settled on one that meets all my needs. I have also read all the threads on reddit about FOSS launchers. **My preferences:** - Multiple pages - Widgets on home screen - search function; app/contacts/ddg The closest one yet is NeoLauncher, but the search function is not quite there I reckon. Any suggestions?

Im not that extreme as a few of us in here are, but I would start out by throwing away the thought of having different outfits for different days. Also thinking about washing t-shirts/underwear in the sink greatly reduce the amount of pieces of clothing you have to pack. Another thing is layering. You just need a hardshlell jacket , even for winter, its just about being able to build up warmth with the underlying layers. For example; you could use the same thick sweater for the restaurant, as well as an undergarment. Two laptops comes with a lot of weight, but what is good, is that they are flat.

I started with a Nomatic travel backpack, got a Farpoint and now I am rocking a Synik 22L.

Nomatic: bells and whistles, but nothing else.

Farpoint: too large for EDC, but a great bag.

Synik: amazing bag, but I am maybe thinking it is too small for my needs.

Sadly me and my GF switched away from it, due to the weird handling of subtasks, their order and constant shuffle of them, when expanded and not expanded.
