I would actually just settle for not pre ordering AAA games as a good place to start.

Mine is 7 months old now. I felt the same. Just wait, you'll likely feel that it was the best thing you ever did. Your kid may be the one to drive some positive change. Just do the best you can and give yourself some grace.

The album 'pride' is originally what got me into him. It's really good and has a weirdness to it I love. But I agree - song for zula is one of the greatest. The rest of this album didn't do it for me either.
However, seeing them live is fucking fantastic. You don't need to like their songs to have a good fucking time. Their passion is contagious.

I'm with you. The intro was pretty lackluster, the main campaign doesn't interest me at all, and new Atlantis kinda sucks imo
Then I joined the crimson fleet and suddenly 50 hours was gone.

Brink... Sigh. I remember that trailer coming out and I watched it like every day for years waiting for it to come. I watched every dev vlog, read every update. For years I was hyped on that. At time of release my buddy and I took the week off of work. We played it for like 3 hours one night and finished it. I remember thinking "there must be a mistake. This can't be it. This isn't the game I've been dreaming about." I never booted it up again after that first night.
Brink was my CP2077.

Haven't watched wrestling in many years. But Bray was always a badass. His entrance was epic, his characters were fantastic and frightening, and his story telling was larger than life. RIP.
A beautiful song

Many states (especially more liberal ones) have laws regarding suspension and loss of wages /hours while an investigation is ongoing. Often times a paid suspension is to protect from future wrongful termination law suits. Paying someone to stay home for the duration of an investigation, then severing employment based on the outcome of the investigation is pretty standard practice... Not just for police or unions but companies as well.

Last year. Pneumonia I believe. There will be one final album the rest of the band is finishing up.
Edit: he also had a band before Low Roar, back when he lived in the states, called Audrye Sessions. They were more of a rock sound but still quite good.
Bear Vs. Shark's 'Right Now, You're In The Best Of Hands. And If Something Isn't Quite Right, Your Doctor Will Know In A Hurry' is available now.

I'll share my experience. I love oblivion, skyrim, and enjoyed d4. I've never played DnD or a Baldurs Gate game.
I am so stoked that BG3 is getting the recognition for all they've done in putting the gamer experience above all else. Seeing the passion and love they put in and gamers are then experiencing is incredible.
I have also realized the game is not for me. There's too much detail. I don't enjoy controlling a whole party of characters. I may not just be smart enough for all the shit that's in this. I am also a new dad so I just don't have the time or brain power to learn and I feel like it's a big learning curve.
Maybe one day I'll come back to it and feel differently, but I'm also okay watching everyone else enjoy it while I play something else in the limited time I have.

I am enjoying it. Like the other commenter, I had the opportunity to be in closed alphas and betas. It's indeed a cozy game that's great for relaxing at home.
It's a bit like BoTW or TotK where you set off to go do one thing and you realize an hour later you've done 30 other things. I enjoy that you are rewarded for playing with others (equal drops and spoils) and even gain bonuses when you are near or cheering on others.
There is no health bar, combat, or competition. So this is not a game for typical MMO players. Which I find nice, coming from other games where I tend to min-max or play competitively on a rigorous schedule.
However, 25 player instance limit can get a little lonely. Timegating crafting mechanics make it feel like a little too much like a mobile game and lack of controller support have prevented me from putting too many hours into it. (I am a new dad and controller support has become essential lately. For a game so focused on inclusion, I am baffled that it's still not in the game at this point.)
There are also micro transactions in the form of $25 skins - which is just stupid expensive. They also don't look that great though, imo. You're not introduced to the cash shop at all, in any way. No pop ups at log in, no daily rewards, very little bullshit like is popular in other games lately.
I have noticed a lot of complaints around character customizing (only 2 body types, no facial hair, only 1 race).
For f2p Palia is definitely worth visiting, but you probably won't be there for long.

100% with you. Not a country guy, not into Elvis. Enjoy Johnny Cash, but would never really throw him on. But for some reason OP just resonates.
His voice is insane and he's really learning how to harness it. He's a great song writer and I enjoy watching interviews and such with him. Very passionate artist.
I know he canceled a lot of shows to check his mental health and I hope he recovers. Seems like a great dude.

Solid approach and a noble cause.
Always bums me out to see an interesting article with 50 up votes and no comments discussing it. I think comment content is a big miss right now (but when it does happen it's usually more elevated than anything on reddit for the last 5 years).
Cheers.

To be honest, I've held off from listening to anything new since Isaac left. I'm fucking judgy regarding vocalists and I just haven't been ready to give them a chance yet.
I really enjoyed the chaotic, wolf-parade-esque bursts from Isaac. If there's a particular track you recommend let me know and I'll check it out.

With inflation on the rise, a recession on the horizon, a former president facing criminal charges for attempting to dismantle our democracy, recovering from a pandemic while supporting a European war, continued gun violence as our children are massacred in schools and shopping malls, facing a staggering climate change and yet refusing to acknowledge its existence, and facing a growing political divide... The US government will do what ever it can to keep its people distracted and brain dead.

We are introduced to two dissidents as they take aim at the city's looming, panoptic control tower, while local band The Protomen take the stage amidst the action, inciting unrest as they narrate the struggle.

I have an account on kbin. Recently I saw a post across my feed in which a magazine that I follow (that's based on a Lemmy instance) was celebrating over 1k subscribers. When I visited, I saw only 240 or so. I decided to check it out from a Lemmy account and saw well over 1k. I also saw massive amounts of content that was not being pushed to my kbin account. Even when looking at specific users, I could see only the occasional post they made was visible to me on kbin while on Lemmy I could see massive amounts of content that they had posted to this magazine. It bummed me out because one of the things they shared is extremely niche and I've never seen anyone else out in the wild interested in that topic and I would have loved to engage... But it never made it to my kbin feed. Is this an issue with kbin vs Lemmy? Is there hope it will be fixed? I feel bad because I don't want to use Lemmy and have loved kbin but am certainly jarred that I've been missing out on 80% of the content from a magazine I've been invested in engaging with. TIA

Moved here from San Diego County recently. Down there you sort of just turned off the 101 into a parking lot and boom, beach. (Tamarack, Ponto, Moonlight, etc) I feel like here in OC they make it real difficult to get to. Any place between Dana Point and Newport that has easy access? I have a fresh little one and am eager to get them out into the sand without it being a fat hassle. TIA!
