Alongside the Buddy Bot, Frost Giant's implementing game modes to appeal to players who are interested in RTS gameplay, but might not seek out the intensity of 1-on-1 competitive RTS matches. In addition to a story campaign that can be played with three players, Stormgate will have a separate 3-vs-AI mode, custom games, and a competitive 3-vs-3 mode where each team has to defend a single, large base structure.
As the typical RTS enjoyer who only plays singleplayer, this type of paragraphs make me less and less interested in this game.

This is unfortunately typical of visual novels. The line level sentence-to-sentence prose is rarely even adequate, and often what they choose to describe is already shown as an image on the screen. The best ones, I feel, simply omit the prose and have only dialogue, and if they choose to describe an already-visible image, the description ought to tell what isn't already available as visual information.

Thank you for your informative comment. I know I'm almost a month late, but I'm about to start my vacation and needed a nice city building game to try.

I noticed that for a week or so now the community has been much smaller tham it used to be. I'm seeing an almost 90% decrease in posts, comments, and votes. Did something get defederated or did a big community go down? Lemmy stats show that Lemmy average user count is still about the same.

Good work! Perspective is one of those things that is pretty mechanical, and one can avoid learning it for a long time by using crutches. It's always faster to work when one has internalized perspective and especially foreshortening so it comes automatically.

From distance, I thought I'd see an ultra-detailed sketch, but this is conveyed by nothing but the directional lines suggesting of detail. Minimalism at best.

I sort of hoped that Lemmy communities would have a more original "redditquette" idea to downvoting where downvotes are explained and only done when a post is noise instead of signal. But I guess downvoting as a system will always be "I don't like this opinion/post". It's a shame.
I upvoted this because you posted artwork that you created yourself, which is the point of this community.

I really like your recent use of stronger color (or more continous regions of color), and also how you manage to make something so abstract look like 3D shapes.

If I may offer a suggestion, the shirt looks like it's paper-thin and appears to kinda float on him. I think it stands out because of the sharp line between the skin and the white shirt where the contrast draws it out.
Your faces are great as always.

Jälkimmäisessä oli alunperin jpegin tiedoissa orientaationa top-right, jonka myöhemmin korjasin top-left. Pohdin olisiko tuosta kiinni ja korjautuisiko preview jos jokin lemmyn cache nollautuisi tuolle linkille.

I also kinda wonder why Lemmy displays the preview sometimes, but not always. Maybe it has to do with image size? Or some metadata? My portfolio uses the non-standard og:image
meta tag that usually works.

This all sounds interesting and I wish I had the education to answer it, but I don't.
what kind of habitus and biological changes does it induce in humans
I think Mesopotamia is interesting precisely due to it being the first place where sedentary societies truly became common place and archaeology in that region might give us clues where that transition happened.
As for biological changes, I wonder if we might be able to find signs of viruses or diseases from bones of pre-historical humans? Some diseases likely jumped from cattle to humans, like with COVID-19.

I'm not sure what the rules on this community are about non-professionals posting and answering. I have arm-chair researched Sumer in the Jemdet Nasr period (around 3000 BCE) when Uruk was a large metropolis. Much like most things Sumer, the research is lacking as we're simply dealing with too old societies who lived in a part of the world that has changed so much due to climate change and soil salinization over the 7000 years civilization has existed there.
The cities of Jemdet Nasr period were structured into irrigated and unirrigated land. The latter was used as grazing ground for sizable quantities of goat and sheep, which required pastoral people to herd them. During the Ur III period, there were possibly around 350 000 sheep, which would require a considerable non-sedentary workforce to manage which were possibly imported from the surrounding hilly & mountaineous countryside.[1]

The forest scene at top right is my favorite. It has great use of light & shadow and color. Really looks like sun is hitting those rocks at the front and the forest expands further into the distance.

There were already some rumors about bad working conditions during the Dark Souls titles, now more with Elden Ring: https://www.ign.com/articles/elden-ring-developers-compare-working-at-fromsoftware-to-playing-dark-souls
Even with some negative accounts, other FromSoftware employees said working at the studio has been a great experience. One employee even likened it to FromSoftware's own Dark Souls, saying, "There's a lot of struggle to get things right, but if you get over the hump it is very satisfying. It's just like you defeated a boss in Dark Souls."
I'm not sure if we should be approaching work like Dark Souls.

Somehow this feels more vertical that the other works by you. I wonder if it's because of the darker spot at the top giving this a sense of depth?

Do we have anything that can make use of such tags? I don't really see the purpose unless there's a programmatic way to filter based on them. Right now many people already write the medium in the title if they want.

My longest work yet, around 5-6 days I think. I started with a [14 line armature](https://plantmonster.net/art/art91_armature_19_10_2023.jpg) and painted the figure, then tried to decide what to add to each line / knot. Ultimately, I didn't quite manage to use the armature, but it still turned out ok.

Atrocity Guide has a number of medium to long videos on various topics, but this in particular has always baffled me.
On joitakin lakeja, joista käydään pitkiäkin oikeuskiistoja, mutta joissa itselle ainakin jää epäselväksi miksi kyseinen laki on edes olemassa. Tai ehkä tarkemmin, mitä yhteiskunnallista ongelmaa tällä lailla on pyritty korjaamaan. Mitähän kautta selviäisi yhteiskunnallista tai poliittista keskustelua, joka on lopulta johtanut joidenkin lakien syntymiseen? Eduskunnan pöytäkirjoja? Uutisartikkeleita? Esimerkki 1: hankintameno-olettama osakkeiden verotuksessa https://www.vero.fi/henkiloasiakkaat/omaisuus/sijoitukset/osakkeiden_myynt/ Kun myy osakkeita, niin niiden verotus on löyhempää jos osakkeet on omistanut yli 10 vuotta. Miksi? France is Bacon jne.
Ehdotin toisessa postauksessa Yhdysvaltojen presidenttiä.
