It's fun! Crank up the speed and traffic, and it gets ridiculous trying to get your chicken across! Great head-to-head game, wish we had had this one at home when I was a kid.

I'll start looking for it! 👍

I'll have to check that one out!
Love finding awesome games for old systems that I had no idea existed, my kid and I are going to have a blast with this one!

IX might be my favorite of all time, and I would have camped out overnight to have that on something like the DS.
At least we're getting some re-releases on the Switch now. 🤷
Fwow13 6 months ago • 100%
I've been eyeing the collection on Switch! Just hard to justify when I have so many other ways to play those games already. My money is finite, unfortunately.
I do love the soundtracks though, and that also makes it tempting. I play a lot of theatrythm on both 3DS and Switch.

I wish! I still don't have a PSP or Vita 😮💨

Just GBA, Square Enix did all these releases for it and I'm a big fan of the series and the system. Just threw Tactics in because it's also "Final Fantasy" on the GBA. And figured I'd put the DS III in there too for the hell of it.
I have the original Tactics installed on my PS Classic. 🤷
It took years grabbing these as they've popped up for decent prices, just recently grabbed V to finish it off. Wish III had been released as a GBA cart.

To be fair, a GB or GBC cart in the SP will make it much less pocketable.

Dang it, thanks.

Same for me. If we're counting in backwards compatibility, I was always a GBA guy for the fact it could play the entire Game Boy library.
As I've gotten older though, I've been gravitating more to the DS for the combination of DS and GBA.

They're a lot of fun!
I'm sure it's not for everyone though, they do make great display pieces too!

Oh, it's right there.. on my wishlist.
I do have it on my 3DS though as part of that Ambassador program. Not the same as having the cart, so I still want to track it down sometime.

I definitely have some options when I need a GBA fix!

If you have to have dedicated carts of them - I'd say to go for it!
If all you need is to play them again - I would strongly recommend getting a flash cart instead. Repros can be pretty unreliable.
Fwow13 1 year ago • 100%
I wish I could have all of them! Maybe some day...
I was never really interested in any Pokemon game after the first two gens. They just didn't feel like different enough games to me. So with GBA, I only grabbed the remakes of the first gen when they came out.

It's a great game! And Treasure seemed to work in every graphical trick they could get out of the system. There's some impressive and chaotic graphics in that game.
Fwow13 1 year ago • 100%
The mother games are the only repros I've purchased, it's a crime that Nintendo didn't localize those for NA or EUR!
So it's just a cheap repro from eBay with an English patch. I have a flash cart too, which is probably the better way to go.

It's too hard to choose!
Advance Wars is always a solid choice, with the ability to create your own maps it never really gets old.
Metroid Fusion is one of my favorites too.
Drill Dozer is a blast to 100%, and WarioWare is fantastic any time you pick it up!
There are too many great games on this system for me to choose!
I'm still looking to grab Iridion II, it's supposed to be the superior game to the first. Love the music in Iridion 3D though 👍
Just dumped out my small bin of GBA games.

Yep 👍.
I used to be a day 1 rooter and customizer, but so many of the little annoyances I've had with the OS over the years that I would root to change have either already changed to my preference or are now something that I can customize without root.

I think the ability to play carts is part of why this is over $100, that takes a lot more hardware than just an emulation box does.
Fwow13 1 year ago • 85%
It does hit as pricy at first, but I don't think it's unreasonable given what they're doing here and what (I'm sure) BOM costs are right now.

Nice! I had seen a couple rom hacks for the originals that add the QoL changes, but I don't remember seeing the rearranged game. I'll have to look into it!

Pokémon? Probably Red, it was my first (bought when it came out) and I have the most nostalgia for that one.
Of all those carts? I don't think I could choose. Probably just plain old Tetris, but there are so many great games.
Fwow13 1 year ago • 100%
I had to settle for a cart with some label damage to experience it on original hardware.
It's on the Nintendo Switch online service now though, that might be an option?
Fwow13 1 year ago • 100%
Me too! Unfortunately, the cart won't fit into the Game Genie. It has a significant hump at the top that prevents it from going in backwards (like carts have to for the Game Genie).

Ghostbusters II for NES and Game Boy (the ones developed by Hal) are the only good retro Ghostbusters games, and the only ones worth playing! Though, the Sega Genesis game is okay.
I really can't pick a favorite. Growing up, it was Link's Awakening. But if I had to pick only one today and I'm being honest, it would have to be Tetris.
If I had to grab something to play right this second... It would probably be something Kirby. Though I have been thinking about getting back into Harvest Moon lately.

Mole Mania is fantastic 👍
I never heard anyone talking about that one back in the 90s, seems like more people know about it nowadays.

I use this adapter with Sony earbuds with my Pixel 4xl and they've been solid for years.
USB Type C to 3.5mm Female Headphone Jack Adapter, JSAUX USB C to Aux Audio Dongle Cable Cord Compatible with Samsung Galaxy S23 S23+ S23 Ultra, S22 S21 S20 Plus/Ultra, iPad Pro, MacBook, Pixel (Grey) https://a.co/d/4xdLdDF
If you can't find what you're hoping for, I can at least vouch for the reliability of this adapter with my (dated) Pixel phone.

🎶Be prepared!🎶
Years ago I inherited my wife's family's Game Gear. After a recap, and replacing the backlight, I started tracking down games to play on it. It's been great exploring a whole library of games that I skipped out on as a kid! (I was a Nintendo kid) Now I have a nice little library of carts to play on this beast of a 90's handheld.
Finally got around to tracking down Tetris 2, looking forward to digging into it more. Quick pick-up-and-play puzzle games like this are great on the Game Boy. Happy to add this one to the library!
I made it earlier this year, thought I would share. Now my VB can safely travel with me!
