What are your thoughts on something like this? https://www.ebay.com/itm/335508029876
Edit: in case the eBay link dies, it's a link to a SAMSUNG 75 inch Class QLED 4K Q70C Series Quantum HDR, Dual LED Object Tracking Sound Lite, Q-Symphony Motion Xcelerator Turbo Gaming Hub Smart TV with Alexa Built-in QN75Q70C 2023 for ~$930

Correct $1000 USD, thanks for clarifying!
I'm moving into a new apt and the ISP is trying to rent a router at $20/mo, so I'd like to get my own router. I'm considering setting up opnsense for the router & TP link Omega for the AP & Switch. But this feels a bit overkill for an apt. Should I just get a all in one router instead? What are the pros and cons?

I take Public transit even if it's longer because driving is stressful for me 😔
Basically, what the title says ~ is anyone having issue with beeper right now? Update: Seems to be working again now 🤷

Welcome friend 😁

That's fair ~ I do still have other chat apps installed to access more features in the individual platforms, this wouldn't be much different.

If I can ask, what caused you to leave beeper?

A matrix direct message ~ they don't seem to support DMs so instead it's a room!

Is there a way to have separate profile pictures on the chat? I'd like them to see my picture & me to see theirs.

In my mind, having to use a whole new client defeats the point 😅

Firstly ~ I'm a huge fan of beeper! Can't wait for a paid tier to come out so I can support it. I recently got my partner on to beeper as well & I was wondering what platform do y'all prefer for messaging with other people also on beeper? At the moment we're using WhatsApp via beeper (we were using WhatsApp before) ~ I'm considering moving to matrix on beeper, but it seems much less feature complete (Can't show her profile picture on it since rooms can only have one photo for everyone, typing indicator doesn't function, etc.) I'd like to move away from Meta-owned WhatsApp. What do you suggest?

This is what I figured, I'll reach out to my credit card company and see where this goes. 😥
I broke the screen on my pixel 7 pro, I took it to get repaired by a local shop & we discussed that I wanted an original part. They interpreted this as I want a “new” part, but not an original one. They've now done the repair with an aftermarket screen, which is much lower quality than an OEM part. I've asked them to make this right, but they say they've done what they said they'd do. I feel ripped off, but I also don't want to be unfair to the work that they've done, installing the part and all. I'm just looking for guidance on how to handle this situation? Has anyone been here before?

In my experience website menus aren't incredibly common, perhaps I could upload the photo and link that though.

Map complete looks great ~ but there doesn't seem to be an Android app for it. It would be neat if organic maps could integrate with mangrove.reviews.
I've been contributing to Google Maps for a while, specifically, I usually upload pictures of menu's from restaurants, so future visitors can see them before they decide to eat there! I'm trying to degoogle my life a bit & was wondering if there is a way I could contribute these to OSM?

I would guess they accept cash offers regardless of credit score?
I have not been able to notice a pattern as to why/when this happens. But after the black screen for a few seconds, it comes back to the login page. I've updated the bios to the newest version with no success, would love some assistance at least debugging this. This is my relevant system information: ![System Specs](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/2f875e2e-a87d-4ef9-834d-f1bd0d132de0.png)

Thanks for the kind response! That's rather what I figured the ~ I'll take a crack at it later this week & maybe write a blog post about how to do it if I figure it out :)

Was it the new Spark ones or the Volta 2.0 ones?

I actually rarely transfer data via USB-C ~ most of my usage is charging. But if the charging speed is slowed, that would be a dealbreaker for me.
ApplyingAutomation 2 months ago • 100%
The Volta one's a linked claims 100W charging ~ but I can't find any reputable testers who've independently proven this. Is the slow charging speed the only reason for moving away from it?
I've created 2 themes on https://color.firefox.com/ ~ one light themed & one dark themed. Would it be possible to configure these as a dynamic theme which follows my system's light/dark settings? (I'm using Fedora if that's relevant)

From doing some research on this, I've come across this reddit thread. Is this something that worries you? And/or have you had any issues like described in the thread?
I'm in the process of replacing my entire cable line up to be entirely USB-C & I am interested in perhaps getting something like [volta spark cables](https://www.voltacharger.com/products/extra-volta-spark-cable). Has anyone tried these before?
