Approach 900 hours played and I still can't beat A20 with Ironclad!

I feel like i'm wading thru quicksand trying to slog thru with him. Like with Watcher I feel like I can kick the spire over (sometimes). But man with Ironclad, I just can't seem to improve or get anywhere. (Unless I get like corruption/dead branch etc)
