PSA: There is a chrome and firefox extension called "Reddit Block" that can redirect Reddit to any site of your choosing... including the homepage of your favorite instance!
I mention the extension in particular because it is easy to set up use for those of us who don't want to dig through browser settings to set up a redirect rule
