The issue is that Fetal Death (one of the terms we search for) is medically considered Stillbirth but VAERS is using that Medra term indiscriminately for both Miscarriage and Stillbirth. Aan tafel bij programmamaker Flavio Pasquino vertelt hij over het maken van zijn indrukwekkende tweeluik, dat is te zien bij blckbx. Vanavond is Michiel Molenaar te gast bij blckbx today voor een 9/11-special! Molenaar maakt vooral frivole en kleurrijke pop art. Maar omdat hij een groot Spiderman-fan is, raakte hij al snel gefascineerd door 9/11. “Behalve dat het voor mij – net als voor iedereen – een enorme schok was, besefte ik ook dat ik de torens, waar mijn held vele schurken heeft verslagen, nooit meer in het echt zou zien.” Hij bleef het nieuws over 9/11 volgen en de eerste jaren twijfelde hij niet aan de officiële lezing. Dat veranderde toen hij de documentaire Loose Change zag. “Dat was voor mij de eye opener,” zegt hij. “Het is voor mij misschien iets makkelijker dan voor andere mensen, omdat ik ben opgegroeid met een gokverslaafde vader. Daardoor kijk je sneller naar wat er wordt gezegd, in plaats van naar wie iets zegt.” Voor zijn tweedelige documentaire Nine Eleven: Langs de lat van het 'kritisch denken' haalde Molenaar inspiratie uit een interview met Herman de Regt, dat hij zag bij Café Weltschmerz. De Regt geeft les in het kritisch leren denken aan de Universiteit van Tilburg. “Hij legt uit hoe je dingen moet controleren en hoe je ook naar jezelf moet kijken,” zegt Molenaar. Omdat De Regt complottheorieën over 9/11 juist wegwuift als onzin, besloot Molenaar om zijn eigen opvattingen erover kritisch te toetsen. “Laat ik dan maar eens op die manier naar 9/11 kijken, dacht ik toen.” In gesprek met Pasquino licht hij zijn meeslepende documentaire toe.
