Some time ago, someone convinced me to try out Hyprland, and I've been working on this one ever since. It might look minimalistic, but not for the lack of trying. Bare desktop with a cheatsheet widget on one screen and `krun` being used on the other.  Bare desktop with a launcher widget on one screen and a calendar widget on the other. The mouse is hovering on the lock desktop icon on the launcher widget sidebar area.  Browser window on one screen and swaync notification center on the other. I'm curious, what do you do about VLC if you use a tiling WM ? - Do you ignore the pain and still use a theme ? - Do you not use a theme and live with it messing up your nice color scheme ? - Do you just not use VLC ?
I just combined win10xos and win10os and I also use windows 7 show desktop and a windows 10 cursor pack and segoe ui font i even made my firefox look like edge (except for the icon) and i think i should change the icon of the desktop firefox link

Removing everything from the Waybar I don't really use that much, rewrote the clock module (turns out you can do that), and just decided to embrace the "Tiling Window Compositor" vibe by relying more on keyboard shortcuts.

I was unable to find Gruvbox light theme, so I decided to create one myself. The thing is still WIP and will be for a while but works for me atm. Key components are color scheme and desktoptheme. Over that I use *simp1e gruvbox dark* cursor, *Tela light* icons and *Sonokai espresso* Konsole theme (but I'm considering switch to gruvbox as well). Using a less aggressive approach to rounding the corners on the desktop elements this time. Overall theme is Material-Black-Cherry but I color sampled the tree she's reclining on for the desktop elements. Gruvbox-Material-Black for the icon set.
Gentoo with a custom kernel made using the fantastic guidance from the wiki. I replaced the tux boot logo with an IBM one, I used this guide to do that: https://linuxlink.timesys.com/docs/wiki/engineering/HOWTO_Use_a_custom_boot_logo (is not that hard) Things that don't work yet: - Webcam microphone Conclusion about Gentoo: Waiting for packages to compile is annoying. But the flexibility and the Gentoo wiki makes up for it. Also Gentoo now has binary packages so I don't have to wait for packages that I don't care about to compile. One of my all-time favorite wallpaper finds (LINK: [https://wallhaven.cc/w/g8xlxd](https://wallhaven.cc/w/g8xlxd)). The Waybar and Hyprland window borders are color sampled directly from the wallpaper itself. The other color/icon/cursor/terminal themes are listed in the fastfetch output.
