Ronnie My name is Chidubem Okwu . . . ., I am a pastor, but I have disappointed God and I really don’t know where to begin to tell my story. I must tell you the truth. I can’t really say if I have a call or not. I was a Sunday school teacher in my church for 9 years at Kaduna. In 1999 I was led to start a church, but from the experiences I have gathered now I cannot say I was actually led by the Holy Spirit to start that church. As at 2008, I was not making any progress both spiritually and materially. I saw many churches which began several years after mine and they were making waves and are still making progress. At a point I did not know what to do again and after discussing with my wife I decided to approach the general overseer of a church that began 7 years after I started my ministry and explained to him that personally I was not making any headway and same with my ministry. My ministry would grow up to 200 people and after a short period it would shrink to 50 people and at time it would grow to 150 and shrink to 40 people. I approached him because the growth in his church was fast. He began the church in 2006 and by 2012 he was recording 11,000 people on a Sunday service and he was also making good money and riding great and big cars including the latest jeeps. After listening to me, he promised to help me solve my problem. He said I needed to be empowered and that it is going to cost me some amount of money besides, I need to have a big and strong heart. Then he asked me if I have got a strong heart and I told him that I have as long as it is not going to involve killing a fellow human being. He asked me thrice if I have got a strong heart and I consistently gave him the same answer. Again he asked me if I want a single empowerment or double empowerment and I asked him which one is better and he said double empowerment is better but, it will cost me a lot of money and that after the empowerment I am going to be told how to maintain and renew the power. This time I became afraid and I asked him if the maintenance and renewal involves any ritual, he said no that whatever the renewal and maintenance will involve are just normal things that I am already doing so I should not be afraid. He said I should go and raise three hundred and fifty thousand naira (350,000.00) which I had to borrow from my wife. The next day I handed over the money to him and he asked me to go and get ready that we shall be going to Lagos and Port-Harcourt. I got ready and we took flight from Abuja to Lagos that same day. In Lagos we lodged at the guest house of a big ministry and at 11.30p.m we went out in a private car to the Barbeach. At the Barbeach we were at the bank when he spoke some unknown language and told me that a woman was going to come out of the water and that I should do whatever she says. As soon as he said that, there was rumbling on the surface of the water and a mermaid came out of it. The general overseer told me not to be afraid that the mami-wata will not harm me so I picked courage when I saw her. When she came to the surface of the water, the lower part of her body was fishlike, but my eyes were transfixed as that lower part and as she was getting close to me it became human part. Then she came to me and asked me to have sex with her which I did in the presence of the general overseer. After having sex with her, she put her hand in her vagina and made a sign of the cross on my forehead and my palm and told me that she has empowered me and that I will see the difference. The mami-wata left me, went to the general overseer and brought out a golden cross and chain from her stomach and wore it on the neck of the general overseer who gave her some money. The mami-wata thank him and went back into the sea. All the time she spoke in English language. When we eventually got back to the ministry’s quest house, the general overseer told me that we have to go to the church of that ministry because they were having night vigil and when we got there, I was given an opportunity to minister in the church and as I raised my hands from the altar the members began to fall on themselves and some were tumbling on others and I must say I was almost embarrassed because I never expected the manifestation of the mami-wata power to be so soon. After the all night service we went back to the guest house and the general overseer asked me if I was happy the way the power manifested and I said yes. He told me that we should go to bed and take some sleep because we shall be going to Port-Harcourt that evening. In afternoon as I was sleeping that same mami-wata I had sex with at the Bar beach came to me in my dream and told me that to maintain and also constantly renew the power I must be having sex with a virgin once a month so this jolted me out of sleep. I went to the general overseer’s room to explain what I saw and heard in my dream and he said it is no problem. When I asked him how I was going to be getting the virgins he said he was going to assist me get them, but I need to pay for his service. Honestly chief Apostle after this I wanted to backout, but I had no courage to say or do so. While at the Bar beach I saw many pastors who came there with other senior pastors. It is like a tradition. There must be a senior pastor bringing in younger pastors and I believe each senior pastor had a particular mami-wata they relate with because I saw up to ten mami-wata attending to some other young pastors. In the evening we were at the local airport in Lagos and took a flight to Port-Harcourt. At Port-Harcourt we lodged in the guest house of another ministry and at mid-night we got out eventually arriving in a very big compound of a woman called Eze-Nwanyi inside the compound were many houses. We met many pastors there including first generational churches’ pastors. When it was my turn the general overseer paid some money and itemized what should be done for me. When I went into the room I was surprised it was a woman again and as I was thinking – woman again! I found myself on top the woman on a bed in an adjacent room. Honestly I have not been able to recall how I found myself on that bed. I had sex with her and also sucked her breasts. After the sexual session she made some animal cry and administered some stuff into my eyes and I began immediately to see into the spirit world and also discussed with some spirit beings. After that she gave me a bottle of olive oil which she called “do as I say”. She said with this the members of my church will do whatever I ask them to do. She also gave me another bottle of olive oil which she called “all seeing oil”. She said with the oil I can see deep into people’s secret and a bottle of olive oil which she called “slaying oil” for slaying people during prayer. She finally gave me two more bottles of olive oil. The first one is “crowd pulling oil” and the second one is “touch and follow” – which I will be using to hypnotize women especially virgins because I will be having sex with them and married women to renew the empowerment. She said I could have sex and immediately after that I could go straight into ministration without having my bath. She bound me with oath of secrecy. We left that same midnight and went back to the lodge and the general overseer told me to rub the touch and follow oil and we went to the vigil of the church we were lodging in their guest house and I was allowed to minister and I burst into prophesy to my own astonishment. In the morning two virgins were sent to the general overseer and he gave me one so we took them to the guest house and had sex with them. What really surprised me was that the young girls never asked where we were taking them to and why we were taking them there which is unusual for virgin girls. When the girls left, the general overseer told me that from now I have to concentrate my sermons around prosperity and stop salvation and righteousness messages. He said I should be sending tithes to him and that he know how part of the tithes will get to the woman at Port-Harcourt. Eventually we left Port-Harcourt to Abuja and back to Kaduna. When I began service after my return things began to change. Money began to come, the crowd also began to come and within one week miracles, deliverance followed by prosperity began to happen in the church, the spirit of prophecy came in like I had never seen it in my life. I have been having sex with virgin girls and married women and things have been working out fine for my family and the church for the past six years, but I have gotten to a stage in which I am no longer feeling comfortable with the whole thing. I have had dreams in which I saw myself burning in hell. I have had this dream of hell seven times and in one of the dreams I woke only for the same dream to continue when I went back to bed. I have been having sleepless nights and many nights I get raped by that same mami-wata I have lost two of my children mysteriously, but through the same pattern. For the past three months I have not been able to get virgin girls and this has affected the power as it is going down. I want to get out of this whole issue even if it means closing the church I have gone to the general overseer and he said it was too late for me to get out. He threatened me with mysterious death. He said it is not possible for me to turn against the mami-wata and Eze-Nwanyi because they are already part of my life. I told him that I will do everything positively possible to get myself out of this. Three days later two men approached me and told me that if I love my life I should vanish from Kaduna because they have been paid by the general overseer to eliminate me, so I had to close the church and left the town finally after two days. As I am writing to you now I have nothing to hold on to but, only God Almighty. The problem is that God seems to be very far from me no matter how much and fervent I have been calling on Him and asking for His mercies. I know I have offended Him, but I know He is a God of second chance. I have read your books – Overcoming the Queen of the Coast series and I strongly believe you are the only one that God can use to help me out of this physical hell I have put myself. I am really afraid of going to meet any other person (man of God) because those who are using devilish powers are more than those who use the power of God. For some time now I have not been sleeping at night and I also at times hallucinate. Sir, I urgently need your help because I believe time is running out for me as the attack from the marine kingdom increases. No other pastor has exposed them like you. I know I have transferred many spirits into so many people and I want to know what I can do so that those people can be free from these wicked and evil spirits. Chief Apostle, it is really unfortunate that the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ has been taken over by Mami-wata. The number of pastors using marine spirits is alarming and more of them are getting initiated daily into this wicked kingdom so are these pastors initiating their spiritually illiterate members. Before I messed up myself spiritually, I had always wondered why members of churches follow their pastors sheepishly, but now I know better. The marine kingdom is working day and night to overtake the church and unfortunately the church is sleeping. In the last two months I have had four car crashes and I know they want to eliminate me, but God has been my helper and my only hope. They have killed my two children and now they want me dead. I am becoming afraid of staying alone because of some bizarre spiritual appearances I see and things have began to move in my brain and body. Any time I start praying the movement would start and sometimes I feel the movement in my marrow. The greatest need I have now is to be forgiven by God. If I can get His forgiveness I don’t mind dying after that because I really don’t want to go to hell. I have been misled by the general overseer just as so many young pastors have been misled by their general overseers and senior pastors. Sir, I know you are a very busy person. I will appreciate if you find time to pray over this my problems and seek the face of the Lord on how He will use you to help me out. I know that if I am forgiven, my deliverance will be easy. Telephone no 080633481 . .” Author’s Response When I received this letter I called the number over three times, but it was switched off so the next day I called and it went through. A woman took the call and when I asked to speak to pastor Chidubem, I was told that he was had died in a car crash the previous day and I was dumbfounded. I just expressed my condolences to the woman who later told me that she was his wife that she has to amend her ways with the Lord and move ahead with her life and she expressed gratitude and thanked me. After I cut off the discussion I was frozen on a spot for over five minutes until my son came and touched me asking what the matter was. I must say that it is very unfortunate this pastor died. Those of us alive need to be extremely careful on what we do and where we place our hands. When we want success by worldly standard we can easily soil our hands. I know that if he had not started to get out of these evil powers they wouldn’t have killed him. Only God knows if he was forgiven by God before his sudden death if not no one need to tell you his destination by now. We must make choices in life and whatever choices we make there are consequences and we should be ready to accept the consequences of the choices we have made. God is not going to hold the general overseer responsible for the choice made by the late pastor. I know there are different strokes of mami-wata in the church today. The first is where the pastor deliberately took powers from mami-wata and he becomes an agent of mami-wata and initiates his members. The second is where the pastor was born with mami-wata power especially children of witch doctors, mami-wata priests and priestesses, priests and priestesses of other idols. These powers have become part of them while some were actually initiated into the dark kingdom when they were very young because their parents want them to perpetuate the dark powers in their families and along the line these children become Christians and decided to use the dark powers in them to work for God. There are some who are not aware the powers they are using are not of God, but simply because they see into the spirit realm and prophesy they erroneously believe God is the one using them. While such pastors are ministering, members are being initiated. That is why spiritually sensitive members will observe that certain negative things began to happen to them when they began to attend such churches. Another one is where mami-wata has initiated many girls and sends them to different churches. They penetrate the churches with sex and many of them are in the choir and youth ministry. A girl of 15 who was one of the mami-wata agents told me that she had destroyed the ministry of 12 pastors through sex. She said to me: “Sir, I am the princess of the kingdom of water. We are many we live on both land and water. We have been sent to churches to destroy pastors through sex. Our Ogbanje cult family operates from Benue River and I got initiated through biscuit at school. Once the spirit comes into me I lose control of myself and start looking for pastors to have sex with. I have collected the manhood of all the pastors I slept with. They will not be able to give babies to women again in their lives”. She said she was the assistant choir mistress in her church and she told me that she sings well and had a good voice. When I told her that the voice she use to sing was from mami-wata and it was different from her normal voice she agreed with me.I asked her where she was initiated she said in several rivers namel• Imo Mmiri • Iyi Ocha • Iyi Ntusi • Iyi Afo • Iyi Ogwe • Otammiri • Agbala Iyi OgHere is someone initiated in several rivers. She got into the church without any deliverance and became an assistant choir mistress. She told me she had already initiated over half of the entire church choir into mami-wata. She also told me she had assigned several incubi to many girls in the choir and succubi to many boys in the choir. She said to me: “Prof, I wear choir uniform but, my heart is a mami-wata heart I used sex to initiate pastors into mami-wata cult” There are some married women in the church who have been initiated in the church and their job is to pollute young boys sexually. They also spend their money on these boys. I have met some pastors who actually know that these things are happening in their churches, but they are helpless and don’t know what to do because themselves are not delivered therefore they rarely organize special periodic deliverance service for their members. The mami-wata empowered pastors will do anything to keep their members in bondage. They take advantage of the hopelessness, hunger and spiritual stupidity of their members. One of them impregnated three members of his church at the same time meanwhile two members of the church already had three children for him. One of them called Rev. Gordon . . . . of Holy Spirit Ministry Fellowship, Abisim, Ghana was caught having sex with a sheep that he had tied to a tree. It was the painful bleating of the sheep that alerted residents who wrongly thought someone was about stealing the sheep. He was arrested by the police. The police handcuffed him to the sheep and he was paraded before the press. Another one had always raped his own daughter just before each service. His name is Pastor Kofi Yire . . . . known to his members or Jesus sharp sharp or Jesus one touch. The same handkerchief he used to wipe himself and his daughter he pulls out during his sermons wiping his face. These mami-wata pastors perform “miracles” and “healing” including deliverance that are questionable. I have witnessed healing and miracles in my own ministry. I simply prayed and God did the miracles and healings including deliverance. I didn’t have to perform any thing. These pastors shake wildly as they throw and slash their hands sometime their feet is also involved. I was watching a Nigerian “pastor” performing “miracle” on You-tube. When he squat the people he was healing uncontrollably squat too and when he stood they stood. Unfortunately these members have no discernment of spirits so they accept everything happening here as that of God. On another instance I watched a self-styled Ghana pastor and self made bishop performing miracles on you-tube. He was too theatrical and he was more of a shaman in his demonstration which included walking over sick women who were lying down. He could not even respect the dignity of the women. If you hand a troubled leg, he will stretch his own leg, straighten it and rob it consecutively for about five minutes and he will command the person to stand up. The person will stand up and the members of the church would applaud. In some cases he had to run to and fro the church as if waiting to be energized by some sinister forces. This same self-styled bishop was said to have used voodoo to scatter the flock of another pastor, yet spiritually daft Christians see him as a man of God. In another instance somebody had problem on his head and the self acclaimed bishop continued to hit his own head on the wall several time and the sick man got up claiming he had been instantaneously healed. On June 30th 1996 to be precise was the last day I worked with the defunct Afribank Nigeria PLC. I was packing my personal effects because I was not returning to the bank after my vacation when a pastor walked me asking after “pastor ronnie” and I told him I am the person he was seeking so I asked him to sit down. He told me he wanted me to come to his church to minister and that it was a three day event which he tagged “revival and regeneration”. I asked him to bow his head and let us pray. As I was praying God revealed that he had had bath with the blood of a day old baby. I was stunned so I looked straight into his eyes holding my Bible with my two hands I said God just reveled to me that you had bath with the blood of a day old baby. On hearing this he collapsed his head on my table hitting the table with a thud and he began to weep. I told him that weeping will not solve his problems then he opened up to me that he did it ten years ago while seeking for power. I said “power to work for God or Satan” and he remained speechless. I asked him if he has children and he said two and I asked him if he could surrender any of them for ritual and he said “no”. He took his Bible that he had placed on my table and told me he was coming back, but I never saw him again until I finally left the town in three months’ time. One thing that amazes me about the pastors is that many Western pastors visit them giving approval to what they are doing believing that this is charismatic. I am not saying God is not moving charismatically in Africa, but the charismatic movement in Africa is filled with satanic practices that need to be addressed. I am charismatic and not anti-charismatic, but the truth must be told. The new charismatic movement in Africa has adopted the African religious world view instead of challenging it. The question now is how many of these charismatic pastors have call? Most of them see pastoring as an occupation and will go to any length to outshine those who have genuine call. I agree that most if not all of these pastors are first generational Christians who need to work through several cultural, traditional and tribal issues, but instead of working through them, they have like ancient Rome incorporated these ancestral and ancient practices into Christianity. I am not saying every charismatic pastor in Africa is involved in these practices, but not less than 90% of them are involved. I know that the ministries of deliverance and healing have become some of the most important expression of Christianity in Pentecostalism in Africa, yet this is not enough reason why pastors should go to any length to seek satanic powers to demonstrate healing and deliverance. Pentecostal theology in Africa or African Pentecostal theology is about power of the gospel of Jesus Christ, but most of these pastors are going beyond the power of Christ to work for God. In 2014 a teenage girl told a court at Abuja how she was defiled by the general overseer of a church. She said the pastor told her that he needed to have sex with her to cleanse her. Could somebody please tell me what the relationship between sex and deliverance is. The girl recalls. “Papa said it was a continuous deliverance, and he had to sleep with me to clean the dirt inside me and cleanse my future. I agreed to the deliverance. During the deliverance he carried a white handkerchief and a bottle of olive oil and asked me to remove my clothes. He also asked me if I was on my period and I told him no. He told me that I was possessed with evil spirits that had stained my blood, and it will only take my husband to deliver me and I was not married.” She said the general overseer led her into his bedroom and asked her to close her eyes, brought his handkerchief and placed it over her head and she became weak and he raped her. Definitely the handkerchief was a voodoo handkerchief yet the man is a man of God. Many Nigerian pastors go to Antoa Nyama, a Ghanaian mami-wata for empowerment just as many pastors from Ghana come to the Bar beach in Lagos to be empowered. Some Nigerian pastors go as far as Bombay in India seeks mami-wata power to work for God. One great joy I have is that everybody will give account of himself to God on the day of judgement. It is very unfortunate that pastors go into pact with Satan just because they want power by all means and at all cost. God has not stopped deliverance for his people and same for healing. If He has called you, He is able to empower you. The fact that miracles, deliverance and healing are taking place in a ministry or church doesn’t mean that the power of God is there. These pastors are living in high immorality and they are performing “miracles”. King Manasseh was the first person that brought mami-wata into the church. In 2008 Pastor Benjamin Ojo . . . . and his wife of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, Asaba were arrested in Delta State with a human head. The pastor confessed to using human heads to prepare rituals for his members. He also added that he functions during the day as a pastor and at night as a witchdoctor. He recalls: “I got it (human head) through somebody called John, who works in a cemetery. He brought it for me and said I should buy and I bought it for N3,000. Yes, I am a man of God. But I do this outside church hours. I am both a native doctor and a man of God. This is my personal practices. I do it to complement my church job and I have been assisting a lot of people with it. I use human skulls to do charms for prosperity, to make money and protection. After preparing the charms, I give them to members of our church and other people who are not members.” One of my teachers at all Nations for Christ Bible Institute, International, Benin City, Edo State, Arch bishop Joseph Ojo, of Calvary Kingdom Church postulates: “The biggest challenge facing Christendom, especially Pentecostal Christianity in Nigeria is the invasion of people who are not called by God. You know, there are people who are that, if I want to use a very loose term I will call them touts, have hijacked the pulpit. They are not representing Christ. They are representing their stomach. They are representing their worldly mundane desires. That’s the truth.” Shola Osunkeye, the editor, The Spectator Summaries the whole mess: “There are many of such preachers out there, masquerading as angels of light. They are fathers of lies, mothers of hypocrisy, who, according to 1 Timothy chapter 4, have had their conscience seared with hot iron. They are learned. They have sugarcoated tongues. They feign sympathy and fake listening ears in order to milk their unfortunate audience. They bamboozle with supernatural powers obtained from sources other than those stipulated by the holy writ, and use dubious, sometimes pre-arranged miracles to unsuspecting citizens to their mega churches. “To them, church is not the stairway to heaven but a super highway to obscene wealth. And no trick is too dirty to ensnare their luckless victims. While many in their congregation cannot afford three decent meals in a day, the evil pastors, who are mostly located in the new wave Pentecostal movement, ferry collections to their banks in Bullion vans every Sunday. They build churches that compete with the Basilica in Rome, cruise about town in state-of-the-art cars, and spend vacations in the most exotic tourist destinations across the world. Safe for a few, the majority of them would never lift a finger to ameliorate the sufferings of their poor parishioners.” Nigerian pastors have become sophiscated in using these powers making it look accepted and in great coloration, Ghanaian pastors are still using theirs in its crude form. What do you do about this – a Ghanaian charismatic Bishop wearing a tiny brown thread on his neck. No Nigerian pastor would do that instead he would wear an necklace dedicated to the same power. I have seen a Ghanaian bishop wearing a brown leather anklet, but no Nigerian pastor would do that. The Nigerian pastor or bishop would rather wear a dedicated gold plated anklet dedicated to the same power ### Different Kinds of Mami -wata in the Church Part 2 While Nigerian mami-wata priests are now wearing white suits, the Ghana mami-wata priest is still wearing the same ancient clothes worn by his ancestors. These mami-wata and other cults have away of organizing themselves so well that the ordinary people see them as nothing but, a social club. Take the Ngene Ukwuenu cult of Ohaozara. This cult is well organized that after your initiation you are given the address of the nearest branch of the cult to your house where you can always go to fellowship with others in all the states. One of my counsellees was an ex-member of this cult. In the year 1999, he was at Uburu for this initiation with his wife. The mud from the shrine was molded and given to him to wear as necklace while the same mud was given to his wife to eat. As they were leaving they were given the address of the cult nearest to their house in Lagos. When they got back to Lagos, they joined other members. Along the line, Paul had a call, and stopped attending the meeting and threw away his mud necklace without undergoing deliverance, but his wife refused to quit the club. Paul graduated from the Bible school and began to minister, but he never knew he was using Ngene-Ukwuenu spirit to minister until he came to us for deliverance. During deliverance session, we asked Ngene-Ukwuenu inside Paul to manifest and Paul fell like a pack of cards slithering like a serpent and as at this time he had pastored for 5 years. There are many people in the church who are holding leadership position and they belong to mami-wata cults. They know themselves. The church in Africa need cleansing and I believe it is only God that can do the cleansing. In late 2013, I was counseling an ex-mason and when I enquired from him the church he was attending. He said: “Professor, I have stopped attending church for seven years because when I was a mason I was hired by three men only for them to blindfold me. They warned me not to shout because they were not going to kill me so I just kept quiet. When the veil was lifted, I found I was on an unknown destination. Four ladies had been hypnotized and I was instructed to put them into a large hole in a floor and seal up the place with cement. All my efforts to resist were met with a death threat. I had no choice, but obliged and I was handed a large sum of money. Again I was blindfolded and taken back to very close to where I was picked up. I could not spend that money because it was blood money and after that I began to have nightmares and saw the faces of the ladies. That is what brought me to you. This happened in Benin-City so I had to leave the town” The place was a church and the ladies were buried under the altar. Since then I decided not to attend any church again” I tried persuading him that this was not enough for him to stop attending church. He said he has been too scared to enter any church including the old generation churches too. After prayer of confession and deliverance the nightmares eventually stopped, but he said he will never enter into any church again in his life time. This man was a mobile artisan. Now which God could those men who hired him be worshipping? Definitely it cannot be the Almighty God. The artisan told me that he saw three big Bibles already inside the big hole so the ladies were pushed in on top the Bibles. Now can we say it was God that called these three men? Certainly not. You cannot have a call of God in your life and deliberately murder fellow human beings in you quest for power from Satan. These criminals have brought the name of God into disrepute I have come across many people who have vowed never to have anything to do with any one called pastor because of the sad experiences they have heard with so called pastors. It is unfortunate that many Christians are seeking miracles signs and wonders so they easily fall into the bloody hands of criminal pastors who are using criminal spirits. These pastors and prophets including prophetesses are not interested in whether the members are going to heaven or hell. Some of them use their demonic powers to intimidate members. They call cars and houses members including phone numbers to the cheering of the blind and excited members or congregation. Some will tell you the colour of your boxer and underwear. In some cases junior pastors are sent in advance to gather information about some persons in the congregation and thus information is passed on to the senior pastor or prophet. At times the vehicle plate numbers of the people are also passed on to him through a chip in his ear. Honestly the whole church in Africa is in trouble unless God sends revival and wipe away these Satanists in His house. What do you say when a pastor invites women for mid-night prayer only to rape them all in the name of God. All their sermons revolves around breakthrough, deliverance and motivation. Salvation messages are dead in these churches Sometimes sick members are discouraged from going to the hospital and they die. I see these pastors as blind leaders of the blind and they are all heading for the ditch. They instill fear on the people, warn them about leaving the church, criticizing the pastors, and not submitting to their (pastors) authority. They pray against those who have left the church. In 2014 the general overseer of a Pentecostal and deliverance based church in Lagos cried out that mam-wata has overtaken his church, but he never went beyond that. Some of these pastors have come to us seeking freedom only for them to discover that they lost their power and said: “Prof.,I don’t understand what has happened to me,I have lost my power after deliverance I can neither hear nor see into the spirit again.” here is my response: “If you have really lost your power,definitely the power you were using was not of God” Some of them agreed with me while some disagreed but,when they came back and we looked at their spiritual heritage.we found out the power was not of God and some admitted getting power from witch doctors,voodoo, and mami -wata priests and priestesses Many general overseers have not helped this issue. They abuse their power by calling their wives, gatemen, drivers, cooks and even house help into the ministry. Since most of these people have no call they have to get power by all means to work for God. Some of these domestic staff have become area pastors and regional overseers. When people run into these papa-called ministers they get disappointed and wrongly believe that all pastors are like these ones and they transfer their aggression to anyone who is called a pastor. In 2011 I identified myself to an immigration officer as a pastor and he said “all these pastors” and I responded “all these immigration officers”, but I told him that there is no organization or job that doesn’t have bad eggs and impostors. Many innocent Christians have fallen victims to the criminals in the house of God. Those days I recall the kind of respect one get when you identify yourself as a pastor even in a police caused hold up one is released to continue his journey, but it is no longer so rather your vehicle is subjected to all of embarrassing search and checks. It is almost a shame to identify yourself as a pastor anywhere because of these self styled, papa and mama called pastors and prophets. I counsel every Christian to ask for the help of the Holy Spirit in reading the Bible, meditate of the Word of God and be prayerful so that with discernment of spirits they can identify these criminals when they see them. There was a mami-wata priest in Onitsha who repackaged his practice, relocated to Lagos and started a church. He has one of the largest church in Lagos today. The church is located in Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos. All the girls who serve him are virgins and any day anyone of them loses her virginity her service with him ends that day. He is the one that disvirgins them. One day as he was preaching the son of his landlord at Onitsha walked into the church. When he saw the young man he changed his sermon and said somebody could be a witchdoctor today and tomorrow God can call him. But the question now is, is he called? And if he says yes. Who called him? The training of these traditional priests is intensive and sever. They have their training in forest and at times they go without food for a long period of time so when they turn themselves to pastors and prophets then undergo long period of fasting which they were taught blind Christians and believers believe they must have been called by God. The Book of Yahweh says they are perverted ministers of the serpent: “In that day, Yahweh with His unrelenting great and strong power will punish the prophets of the assembly of serpent: including those who departed from the Faith. He will give these perverted ministers of the serpent, that beast of the depth, the sentence of death” (Isaiah 27:1) It is very unfortunate that some genuine ministers of the gospel in quest for power and money have departed from the Faith and have become minister and prophets of the assembly of serpents. The role of mami-wata in most church’s choir cannot be understated. She has many agents who can sing and she sends them into the church. They live in sexual sin including oral sex. Many pastors sleep with these young girls. In early 1996 I was preaching in a church when the Holy Spirit revealed to me that mami-wata had overtaken the choir. When I told the pastor he said it cannot be so I stopped my sermon mid-way and facing the choir I simply said “spirit of mami-wata move in the name of Jesus Christ” and the whole choir was on the floor slithering like serpent to the embarrassment of the whole church. As I was praying for deliverance for them I said “spirit of oral sex move” the pastor and a lot of the members hit floor slithering also. The church as a whole need deliverance. There is one that poses as a prophet, evangelist and an apostle in Edo State not well educated, but parade his honourary doctorate as if it was earned. He specializes in calling the balance on people’s account, car numbers, house numbers, etc. He specializes in having sex with married women to renew his mami-wata power. I have always believed that it is not enough to tell people their problems; you should be able to help them solve the problems revealed to you if really you are called by God. As far as I am concerned, revealing the problems if you cannot help me to solve it is of no use. The church in African is gradually going back to worship the same powers worshipped by her ancestors. This self styled apostle got from power from the seven coloured and seven crowned mami-wata between Ikom and the Cameroonian border. To sleep with a woman that is not your wife is an abomination and to sleep with married women to maintain your demonic power is a worse abomination. I have met the husband of one woman who was impregnated by this prophet. The man would not stand the embarrassment and he left Nigeria for the U.K., the man told me he would ensure his next wife will never have any personal audience with any pastor. This is shameful and it should not be heard of in the house of God. The rate at which pastors sleep with people’s wives is alarming. By the grace of God I am a pastor-pastorum and we have been opportuned to minister to many pastors. Of all the pastors we have ministered to, not less than 90% of them have slept with people’s wives. Actually it is not all of them that do it as ritual but, a large percentage of them do it as ritual. One of them was invited by the husband of the woman he slept with. Apparently the woman confessed her sin to her husband and the husband surcharged him and warned him to stay of his wife, but he kept visiting in her office until he met me and I warned him to stop visiting the woman. Of the pastors we have ministered to, not less than 70% of them have slept with their wives sisters/sisters in-law and vice versa for the female pastors. Some of these women were slept with under the guise of night vigil. This is one of the reasons why some men don’t allow their wives go for night vigil. Deliverance for some of these pastors was hard because their heart had been hardened by sexual sin and they saw it as nothing, but normal. If this is normal, where is the moral character expected of men and women of God. The fact is many pastors are still sleeping with other people’s wives and while many female pastors are still walking in sexual sin. This is dangerous for the work of God and dangerous for the pastors too. We all need to be prayerful and careful. When we begin to sexually and ritually abuse people we minister to, something is terribly wrong. At Asaba, Delta State, a pastor impregnated a woman and her daughter. The woman and her daughter from Ilah were allegedly said to be responsible for the death of their bred winner through the evil spirit residing in them. The pastor was said to have invited both mother and her 14 years old daughter for deliverance and he slept with them in the name of deliverance. Both of them suddenly took ill and were taken to a private hospital in Asaba by neighbours where doctors, after conducting tests confirmed they were both pregnant after which they said their pastor was responsible. When the news of the pregnancy broke out, the pastor took to his heels to an unknown destination abandoning his church under lock and key. I was told that the church use to be a beehive of activities. This type of pastor has brought shame to us. He was not satisfied with the woman, he went for the daughter. Now his sins have found him out. In another twist a pastor who lost his wife during child birth impregnated his first daughter twice within two years leading to the birth of two babies within two years. When the pastor’s wife was in labour to deliver the 10th child, the pastor had no money to take her to the hospital and he asked her to deliver at home and in the process, she died. After her death, the pastor began to sleep with his daughter and it resulted in pregnancy which she delivered in 2011. While she was still nursing the baby, the pastor impregnated her again and she had the second baby. The pastor was later taken into police custody. It is really unfortunate that these people claim to be working for God, but how can you be working for God your own way. This does not please God. It is very sad that these pastors leave a trail of destruction behind their ministry. The flocks are scattered, churches are wounded and nuclear families are blown apart. In most cases, damage control becomes impossible and trust is lost. Sexual sins are addictive and addiction is not easy to get away from. Some of these pastors are going through generational fornication, generational adultery, and generational lust. Some of these pastors are not in control of their lives. As I was writing this chapter one witch doctor who turned his practice to a church came to me saying he was declaring totally for Christ. He confessed that he buried a cow under the altar and that the embidents that were coming out of those he prayed for like lizards, wallgeckos, etc, were actually implanted into the people by him. “Why did you go to this extent”? I asked. He said he wanted crowd and turning his practice the other way round brought the crowd. “So you brought African traditional religion into Christianity” I said. He answered “Yes we are many”. Finally he said he wanted to repent and close his church because he had no call. In Sunday Sun of March 23, 2014, Scripture Union Nigeria lamented sexual abuse of children by pastors. Mr. Michael Ayodele of Scripture Union, Nigeria posits: “The church should be in the forefront of this fight to save our children and uphold our testimony. Why the occurrences of sexual abuse by pastors and church leaders? The silence or inaction to bring such pastors to book is unacceptable and seems to confirm our connivance with evil. We are saying that the voice of the church should be louder and discipline of culprits should be stronger to deter others from it. This shall obviously reduce the occurrence. This is why the church leaders should enact laws and be seen to enforce on their own culprits within its leadership.” I am happy with the above, but there is something Mr. Michael Ayodele doesn’t know is that this sexual abuse is not ordinary sexual abuse. It is sexual ritual abuse by the pastors involved that is why it has become wide spread. In 1975 there was a Nigerian Bishop of American Othodox Catholic Church that was derobed and defrocked for sleeping with some body’s wife. He was later deported and he began a ministry at Benin-City, but his libido becomes a big problem for him. He was neck deep into sexual ritual abuse including members’ wives. That ministry did not last for long. He had one of the rooms in his flat as his chapel and this was where he was conducting his sexual and spiritual abuse. Well too bad for a former bishop. My kid sister was almost a victim, but she had to hit him hard on his hand. Imagine a man in his sixties trying to have sex with a girl of fourteen. He was a very bad example of a father figure. He had no call. Sexual ritual abuse is not new. Why are so many pastors playing with sexual sin? Sexual morality is the foundation of Holiness and God doesn’t tolerate immorality. If God doesn’t tolerate immorality why are so many pastors and church leaders living in sin? The only times the Torah speaks of God’s anger as wrath is when it is provoked by immorality. Any one called by God must be ready to serve God even though it may require inconvenience, hardship or danger. He/she must be ready to subject himself to attack and humiliation if necessary, but many pastors are not ready to go through this. I know so many negative things I have had to go through because I chose to answer the call of God. The call of God is the greatest assignment on this earth, but it is not a bed of roses. You can ask prophet Isaiah and Jeremiah if you make heaven. The wages of sin has not changed. The Bible says it is death so these pastors are toying with their lives. For some of these agents of Satan who parade themselves as pastors, homosexuality is the order of the day, yet they claim to be pastors or prophets. These pastors are crowd hungry, glory seeking and fame hunting even if it means dining with Satan they don’t care. They have no godly standards and are not separated. Dr. E. E. Carrier, an American says: “Only the ministry demands character. People will go to a drunken barber an adulterous care dealer, a dishonest lawyer. They will not go to such a preacher.” Women and sex have been the number one pitfall for pastors. To some extent the Church in the Western world is not totally free of these powers too. There are many African-Westerners who also use these powers that accompanied their ancestors when they were leaving Africa as slaves. Some of them who are now ministers were into Palo Mayombe, voodoo, Santeria and mami-wata they only renounced them without them getting deliverance from these powers. There are some of them whose ancestors were voodoo and mami-wata priests and priestesses in Africa so naturally these powers flow in them that is why some of them still come to Africa to renew the ancient pacts their ancestors had with these powers. I have treated this issue concerning Black-Westerners in my book – The African-American and the Ministry of Mami-wata.
