No, this is not the official Samsung Lemmy Community (nor will there ever be one). As this is quite new, all discussions (including support issues) should be shared as posts, but if/when this grows in size, a proper **SUPPORT** thread will be made.

Samsung Q60 doesn't remember Wifi connection

I have connected my Samsung Q60 to WiFi via WPS. This works fine so far. But when i restart the TV, i have to reconnect every time via WPS again, since the TV doesn't remember the WiFi connection. If it is connected, it works fine so far. If i look at the router, i can see, that it is using always the same MAC address to connect, so this is not the issue.

Samsung Curve Monitor T55 black screen suddenly https://imgur.com/gallery/G5a4qBF

I have the T55 27inch curve monitor that randomly went to a black screen and will not display anything. No built-in menu, no pop up saying searching for inputs like HDMI. Nothing. I was playing "For the King 2", and my monitor just goes dark. My pc was still running the game and I could hear others in Discord just fine. Right now i am unsure of what to do. I have tried the following: * Unplug monitor for 30+ seconds * Checked HDMI cable * Held the Jog switch for 1 minute * Plugged monitor into the wall * Tried using the directional functions on jog switch (just cause screen to flicker on and off but nothing is displayed. * Restarting computer (which obviously did nothing). Am at a loss right now. Had this monitor for about 3 years so I think the warranty is gone. What do I do if it doesn't start working in its own again? Edit: [Imgur post showing the issue](https://imgur.com/gallery/G5a4qBF) Edit 2: **I decided to contact Best Buy and see about trade-ins, and discovered I bought the 4 year extended warranty!! So i got it exchanged for a "different" model... Which turned out to be the exact same thing just called something else.**

Is it safe to remove Samsung's "My Files" app with ADB?

I didn't know where else to ask, but my phone seems to default to the AOSP default "Files" app and I do not use Samsung's version. I want to remove it via ADB, but I fear data loss/file deletion. I have come here as a last resort as I can find this nowhere online.

Samsung watch 6 HR monitoring

I have a Samsung watch 6. The main reason I bought it is for running so I can log strava with HR monitoring and listen to podcasts. Well after a few runs logged, the HR monitor on the watch is really quite terrible. Yes I know all about the watch positioning on the wrist. It has massive gaps in HR logging and just blinks while I'm in cool down. What I'd really like to do is hook the watch up with a chest strap HR monitor, but I can't figure out how to do that. So I'm hoping for 2 pieces of advice: -any hot tips for using the HR monitoring. -how to hook up a Bluetooth chest strap HR monitor Thanks!

Fingerprint scanner not working with 6.1 update

I made the mistake of updating to 6.1 and now my fingerprint scanner doesn't work. I've done a full factory reset of my device and still doesn't work. I'm hoping the May 2024 update fixes it whenever it comes out. Otherwise Samsung support says I've to send it for repair! Which didn't make sense if it's a software issue

Samsung Notes OCR Search Not Working on Non-S Pen Devices

I have Samsung Tab 9 Ultra and S23. I'm taking notes on tablet and I can easily search my handwritten notes. It's working great. But S23 can't find or search anything about OCR. Same account, same notes, latest updates etc.. I guess Samsung won't even try to search via OCR if the device does not have S Pen capability. Any workaround or alternative? Because this is a critical workflow for me. I'm taking notes and I have to find it whenever I need without tablet.

Samsung S90C TV - Remove Tutorials From Gaming Tab?

I recently purchased a Samsung S90C. Been loving the TV, but one of the things I've had an issue with is the large tutorial buttons at the top of the Gaming tab in the hub. I didn't need the tutorials to begin with, and I watched them all anyway, hoping that they would go away after being watched. That did not change anything. This is mostly annoying because when I navigate to that tab it defaults to being on that row of the UI, but I will never intentionally select any of those items again. If I could just get rid of that row, then it may default to the next row down which is the row I actually care about on that screen.

Front Facing "Flash" - But Just a Circle

Hi all, just had this happen once (and it took a nice photo so I'm glad), but my settings are flash off... Took a wide angle selfie, and it lit up a white/amber circle on the screen, and that actually provided just enough light without washing out the foreground. Can't seem to replicate it. Can't find any other references online except this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/oneui/comments/127ae79/part_of_samsungs_implementation_of_night_mode_on/ Any ideas when it triggers? Would actually like to use it instead of the default front facing flash.

Is material you dynamic colors are broken after OneUI 6 update?

So I just noticed that half of the apps which supports material you are no longer using the selected color pallets and defaulting the app theme to blue color. Can you guys confirm this. For me none of the google app showing the correct color.

Trade In Experience ? https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/41fd1cb7-ed91-44de-92b5-20300387780a.jpeg

Anyone have experience with trade-in for Samsung? I have a tab s7 and it looks pretty much perfect except around the port because I don't look where I plug 🥲. Any ideas if this would disqualify the trade in, if there's any way to polish it back up, or how people usually prevent this in the first place?

Notification vibration settings seem to be ignored with headphones in

Hey guys, I recently switched cell providers which updated my phone to Android 12. Prior to this, I had my phone configured so that only calls will vibrate, not notifications. I did this by setting my phone to vibrate and changing the notification vibration pattern to silent. After upgrading, this still works, except in one circumstance. When I have my headphones plugged in, any messaging application, such as Discord or Messages, will seem to completely ignore my vibration settings. I also tested setting the notification vibration intensity to the minimum, and this setting seems to be ignored as well. Does anyone know what the issue could be? I've looked through every setting I can find and nothing obvious seems to be wrong. Thanks for the help

S21 Ultra, What buttons did I accidentally push on the hibernation screen to cause this, and how would one do this intentionally? https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/8e6e060d-1bec-4591-b147-1b2dcabee2b2.jpeg

Yes I always have the hibernation set to "always on" so I can always see the clock, but I was carrying my phone in my hand while holding a bunch of other things and apparently randomly smashing the touchscreen, and all these settings options popped up. What did I push to cause this? And how would one do this intentionally?

WiFi of Samsung TVS Just sucks

I recently got myself a Samsung TV again. I stayed away from Samsung since their TV Always had trouble connecting. Now again years later still the same problem. The Samsung TV says WiFi not available while everything else works flawless. Chromecast works, phone works, other TVs work, PC just this stupid Samsung TV isn't working. Not looking for a answer or help just being annoyed. I already tried a lot and I'm not willing to do anything else when this is the only thing not working on the network. Chromecast with Google TV is on it's way for this TV now so I don't have to deal with shitty Samsung wifi. Have you had similar problems?

Samsung Power bank

I had the previous model but loaned it to a student, who had it stolen from them. I'm trying to get my hands on the EB-P3300XJEGWW or EB-PU300XJEGWW 25w power bank but they don't sell it in Canada (that I can find). Is there an alternative powerbank that will charge my GW4 and my S23? Or is there someone in the US near the border who can ship me one? Thanks!

OneUI 6.0 and the future of Samsungs animations

Now yes, the animations of OneUi 6 suck. They're even slower than OneUI 5.1 and are not even close to the iPhone. They're ugly, too. And to be honest if they were interupptable I couldn't tell. They still drop hella frames. However, people may have noticed that gesture navigation is now compatible with launchers. The recents app menu launches instantly, and, when you go home, there is no more delay before you can click an app. (when using a custom launcher.this was already a thing with the OneUI homescreen on OneUI 5.1) I think that Samsung could still improve on this in the future, but really, especially with this update the phone genuinely feels slower stock. Quite annoying.

Just broke my S22 Ultra after only 3 months of use

I had a glass screen protector and a thin case but wasn't expecting this to happen. The screen isn't damaged on the outside which is weird but the display now has 2 horizontal lines and turned green. I can still see but this sucks ass. It's 300€ to replace which I think is too expensive specially considering I wasn't super happy with the phone in the first place. I love it's camera, s pen, and screen. Battery and performance kinda suck so yeah I don't know If I should actually spend more money on this. But I'm also not willing to go for another 1000€ phone ... I'm sad. Phones in general are so fragile nowadays. My S7 Edge back in the day lasted me 4 years of abuse before finally breaking. This thing costed 1200€ it's just ridiculous. Also, I have the base exynos variant if that matters.

Will using Shizuku trip Knox or void warranty or updates on Samsung phones?

I'm thinking of using Shizuku to give root access to Automate app. My doubt is will it backfire in some way. I'm trying to automate enabling and disabling of Work Profile based on a schedule which frustratingly is missing on Samsung. I'm trying to run the adb commands "am stop-user -f 10" using privileged user block in Automate. Can anyone comment on this? Thanks in advance.

What Samsung phone should i choose?

Two months ago, I upgraded from my loyal 3 year old friend aka Note 10 Lite to the S22 Ultra (for a low price of 350€ from a trust worthy seller). It's an upgrade yeah, but apart from the way better camera, long software support, and the slight convenience of wireless charging, I don't feel like it's a huge difference. My note 10 lite still delivers even when comparing performance in general. S22 Ultra heats up like crazy and loses performance and battery life because of it. I don't know if it's like that in general because I don't upgrade often but I don't feel like I'm gaining a lot performance wise. For that reason, I still have both and change them up occasionally... Would you consider selling the S22 Ultra for about 400/450€ while it's still relevant, save the money up and maybe wait a few month for the S23 Ultra to drop price or just stick with the 22 Ultra instead, in hopes that updates fix some of those issues?

Samsung GT-E3210 SIM Lock ON

Dear Samsung I have a Samsung GT-E3210 (semi-dumb phone) made about 2013. I have had the phone since new. It has a lock on it. I don't know how it got there. I don't even know what it is. I would like to remove it. SUMMARY 1. My SIM card works in other phones without a PIN. 2. My phone works, with this SIM card, without a PIN. 3. My phone will not accept another SIM card (even if the correct SIM PIN for that new SIM card is entered). 4. When a new SIM card is inserted the phone says SIM LOCK and asks for a PASSWORD. 5. With my usual SIM card inserted, SETTINGS shows SIM LOCK ON. If I select it, it asks for a SIM PASSWORD. 6. With no SIM card in the phone, SETTINGS says SIM LOCK ON. If I select it, it asks me to INSERT SIM CARD. ELABORATION My GT-E3210 has worked for many years with the same old BIG SIM card in it. I have never programmed a PIN into this old BIG SIM card. I have never used a PIN in connection with this old BIG SIM card. The phone does not require a PIN when I turn it on each day, or when I re-insert this old BIG SIM card. I have never programmed any kind of security into the phone. If any other SIM card is placed in it, however, it will not function. When I tried a new SIM card, the following words filled the screen, SIM LOCK (a padlock symbol) PASSWORD (a space to enter password) (and 2 options above the soft keys : CONFIRM and EMERGENCY) When I entered the verified SIM PIN for this new SIM card it said, INCORRECT PASSWORD When I go to SETTINGS > SECURITY I see that one of the four LOCK's is on : SIM LOCK ON. When I highlight SIM LOCK ON and press the centre button (with my usual old BIG SIM card in the phone) the following words fill the bottom half of the screen SIM PASSWORD 8 DIGITS PASSWORD (a space to enter password) (and 2 options above the soft keys : OK and CANCEL) BUT, if there is no SIM card in the phone, when I highlight SIM LOCK ON and press the centre button, it says only INSERT SIM CARD TWO QUESTIONS please. Q1. What is this SIM LOCK ? Q2. What are my options to turn it off or remove it ? I would be grateful for any help you could give me. Yours sincerely ROMMMELLL

How do I get the LED on my Samsung Galaxy S22 to light when I get a new notification and while it's charging?

It doesn't work unless I download a third-party app which forces me to use Always on Display. I want it to blink at me whenever there is a new notification from any app. Importantly, I want it to show that my phone is charging. I don't want to use Always on Display because it defeats the purpose of the LED.
