A new home for us jeep enthusiasts - a call for mod support

With all the drama on reddit and the potential exodus, I've spun up this community as a new home to share our off-roading escapades and anything related to Jeeps. I have NEVER mod'd a sub or community before but have spent a lot of time on them. If anyone would like to help mod this community I would be extremely grateful. Chime in below and I'll reach out.

Duck rules

So I just got a new Jeep and was wondering what others do with their ducks after getting a new Jeep. So far I'm keeping them on the dash as kind of seed ducks at least until my Gladiator can earn one of its own.

Beautiful!

Found these 2 at the local grocery store for $2 each. Admittedly very cheap plastic but still make a pleasant sight to see on my desk 😀

2001 XJ Rocker Arm replacement question

Hi everyone! I have a question about replacing rocker arms on my 2001 XJ. Is it necessary to bring the cylinder to top dead center on each cylinder as you replace and torque them down. I've seen people online mentioning needing to do this but in the service manual I have it does not state this at all. Here's what it describes "INSTALLATION NOTE: This procedure can be done with the engine in or out of the vehicle. (1) Lubricate the ball ends of the push rods with Mopar Engine Oil Supplement, or equivalent and install push rods in their original locations. Ensure that the bottom end of each push rod is centered in the tappet plunger cap seat. (2) Using Mopar Engine Oil Supplement, or equivalent, lubricate the area of the rocker arm that the pivot contacts. Install rocker arms, pivots and bridge above each cylinder in their originally position. (3) Loosely install the capscrews through each bridge. (4) At each bridge, tighten the capscrews alternately, one turn at a time, to avoid damaging the bridge. Tighten the capscrews to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.) torque (Fig. 25). (5) Install the engine cylinder head cover (Refer to 9 ENGINE/CYLINDER HEAD/CYLINDER HEAD COVER(S) INSTALLATION)." The reason I ask is because I recently had the head replaced by my mechanic. Since then it developed a very quiet tick. He did warn me after the install that if anything came up it would probably be the rocker arms as they were worn down. I forgot to get replacements while ordering all of the other parts and he cleaned them and reused them. So I had him take a listen and he thought that they were still probably the cause. Earlier today I replaced them and now have a louder tick. Going back and looking at the service manual I did pretty much exactly as described although I did not alternate tightening the capscrews. I even realized that as I was going and really should have. What do you guys think? Update: So yesterday I went back and loosened up the rocker arms and torqued them back down to 21 ft pounds alternating back and forth. It did improve the noise. There doesn't really seem to be anything else you can really do as the pedestals sit directly on the head as long as they're torqued all the way down they should be good. I was able to locate the source of the ticking, it is the intake valve on the number one cylinder. I'm probably just going to leave it as is as it's super quiet and my mechanic was not very concerned.

Time to replace tires on my JLU

This is my first jeep and after using it as my daily driver I am in need of replacing the tires. I don’t really know where to begin, but I am thinking that I should do something like an all-purpose tire. I do want to start to explore the world of off-roading, but this will still be my daily vehicle. Any suggestions?

Which Jeep Model Is For You?

We can all recognize the iconic Jeep is the Wrangler, but there are plenty of other models they produce for different uses and customers. If you were buying a new Jeep today, which model would you choose and why? Now, what if purchase price was not a factor? Maybe a rich relative would buy it for you. Maybe you finally won the lottery! Could be a genie emerges from that old oil lamp in the attic at Grandpa's house that he never told you about and will only grant you a Jeep wish. haha Does that change things for you at all?

Where Did the Jeep Rubicon Go? www.autoblog.com

Has anybody been searching for a new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and having problems locating one? Have the hybrids really become so popular that they are taking over the dealer showrooms? Can you even get a Jeep without the extra hybrid stuff anymore? As it turns out, California's war on everything gasoline from your lawn care equipment to your vehicles is spreading to make your life difficult in new ways, even if you live all the way across the country on the East Coast. Really though, the Rubicon goes where it wants, despite California's idiocy.

Jeep Recalls 330k 2021-2023 Grand Cherokee Vehicles for Rear Springs That May Fall Off While Driving

Jeep has put out a recall in [association with the US NHTSA](https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2023/RCLRPT-23V413-6565.PDF) for rear coil springs that may have been improperly installed in 2022-2023 Grand Cherokee and 2021-2023 Grand Cherokee L models, which may lead to them falling out while driving. Notices will go out to owners starting at the end of July.

Mopar 2 inch lift kit for 2021 diesel JL https://store.mopar.com/oem-parts/mopar-jeep-performance-parts-2-quot-lift-kit-77072399ag?c=Zz1wZXJmb3JtYW5jZSZzPXN1c3BlbnNpb24tdXBncmFkZXMtYW5kLWNvbXBvbmVudHMmbD0zJm49Q2F0ZWdvcnkgUGFnZSZhPWplZXAmbz13cmFuZ2xlciZ5PTIwMjEmdD11bmxpbWl0ZWQtcnViaWNvbiZlPTMtMGwtdjYtZGllc2Vs

Wondering if anyone has experience with this kit, I'm not finding much online so far. We've been looking at lift kits for a little while now and have heard about concerns with the heavier engine weight for diesels and how some kits may not be accounting for that. Wondering if the Mopar offering would be good enough. This is our daily and we don't do anything crazy, but would like to get a little more clearance.
