It's based on the latest firmware (0.101.2) so you get all the latest drivers. And if you maintain Flipper Zero software, you can finally let uFBT use the latest SDK instead of 0.99.1. The update went without a hitch on all my Flippers and as far as I can tell, it works very well. Remote control your Flipper in a text terminal

Cloned the report, ufbt-launched it, and hey presto! I now have a second AC remote to fight my wife over the temperature in the living room with 🙂 Thanks Anton!

The head unit's LCD display turned out to be bad that I quickly shelved the device and bought another one. But I forgot the temperature sensor outside on the wall. Today I was goofing around with Flipper and I started the [weather station app](https://lab.flipper.net/apps/weather_station) just to see what it did. And lo and behold, after a few seconds, it unexpectedly beeped and reported a temperature! Then I realized the temperature sensor was still outside, still alive and is in fact a rebranded [ThermoPro TX-4](https://buythermopro.com/product/tx-4/) supported by the app. I'm glad I didn't resell or junk the weather station. Now I can use it again. This is awesome!
I coded my first "serious" app for the Flipper Zero this week, and it's the first time in my 30-odd years as a programmer that coding something felt slightly weird for two totally silly reasons: - Each time the Flipper crashes, the dolphin makes a sad face. I know it's just an animation but... somehow it bothers me each and every time 🙂 - Most of the API calls start with Furi-something. And each time I write one, I can't help but think of [this](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mad_Max:_Fury_Road). Also, there's nothing furious about cute dolphins - apart perhaps when I keep clubbing them with null pointer dereferences... And yes, I know its stands for Flipper Universal Registry Implementation. Yet my brain can't help conjuring up images of cute dolphins being clubbed in a post-apocalyptic desert. Call me weird I guess...
Okay so since the flipper can send radio signals, would it be possible somehow to figure out what channel a TV is on and send signals of that channel's frequency to display stuff on the TV? Or am I completely misunderstanding the whole way this works
If I wanted to build my own device with similar capabilities, what platform would be better to start with: rPi zero, or a small Arduino, with consideration of the necessary modules and firm/software needed.
Can you jam an FM radio signal with a FZ? Let's say, *hypothetically*, there's a guy who parks on your street once a week and -- for some reason that no one understands and he refuses to explain -- he absolutely BLASTS a butt rock radio station from his car speakers for 20 minutes at a time, so loud that it bounces off all the buildings on your narrow street and it sounds like it's coming from every single window. And when you go out and say, "Hey dude, I'm taking a call for work, could you not do that here? Or anywhere, really?" he smirks and looks at you like **you're** the one acting crazy. Again, this is a hypothetical. But in this hypothetical situation, could you use a FZ to jam his car radio? How? (I know that many people might call the police/311 and ask them to do something about this. That is not how I want to do this.) Thank you for indulging this completely made up scenario.
Hi all! I'm currently looking into the flipper zero as a portable device to help me analyze stuff in my work. I'm travelling as a software developer, but often need to work at a very low level with hardware in the automation industry. I've found the [Flipperscope](https://github.com/anfractuosity/flipperscope), but I'll also need something to record streams of data on serial interfaces with different baudrates - and any other interface to gather raw data would be awesome as well (Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet, CAN,...) Also, the IOs would need to be able to handle something like 5/12-24/32V. I'm not quite sure where I should start to look or if the flipper even is a good device for that. But the form factor and option for extendability seems very intriguing. Thanks upfront for any input!
The .fap files are the applications compiled and executable by flipper zero. This site offers a library of precompiled applications according to version and firmware. Just download the right version, drag it into the flipper and have fun. The site: [https://flipc.org/](https://flipc.org/)

I have a ton of random USB cables from over the years, but I can never really remember what is what. Is this a 3.0 cable I bought a few years ago? Is this a 2.0 cable that came bundled to charge that Bluetooth speaker? Does this cable support video? I am not sure if it would even be possible for the Flipper Zero, but I would like to have an app to determine the capabilities of a USB C cable. I imagine you would grab a questionable USB C cable out of your drawer, plug it into your Flipper Zero, run the app, and it would tell you stats about the cable. Things like the cable's max current, data transfer speed, or DP support. There are commercial hardware devices available that read a USB C cable's E-Mark chip and display that info to the user. It would be great to have the Flipper do this instead of having a dedicated piece of hardware for the task.
I was thinking about the Ocarina app, and how much it could be improved, when I though about another application which might not be able to be ported to Flipper Zero, at least not without some GPIO addition: [LSDJ](https://www.littlesounddj.com/lsd/index.php). While I do like that there are so many RTTTL ringtones that were on RogueMaster's firmware from back in the Nokia days (Many of which need to be reorganized, renamed, and cleaned up by artist or genre), I think there is potential to port Little Sound DJ which has been used to do chiptunes in the style that could be done with the classic Gameboy. However, you don't need a Gameboy to use LSDJ. An emulator can be good enough. At any rate, I'd though I'd bring it up. What do you guys think? Also, what other apps do you think should be ported to the Flipper Zero?
I just switched from reddit to the fediverse because of the great mess that reddit did with their recent API changes and the fact that I just found the app [Memmy](https://apps.apple.com/de/app/memmy-for-lemmy/id6450204299) which almost looks like the exceptional app Apollo. As I did not found a place for my beloved Flipper Zero, I created this place here. I hope that we can start the same great and helpful community as it was on reddit. I will update the sidebar information with useful links, tips and more in the next couple of days.
